OK, weird Target story...and a heads up...
On Monday, after the paranoia struck, I bought (2) $200 eBay gift cards and a $3.99 pack of printer paper. I had the printer paper set up for in-store pickup and the gift cards were e-mailed to me within about 10 minutes. My total came to $404.02 so I used (2) $150 Target cards and (1) $100 Target card and put the balance of $4.02 on my RedCard. I knew going in that I wasn't going to get the 5% RedCard discount on the gift cards so I am not upset about that at all...well, I guess if I would have waited
...but I digress...
Tonight, I got home from work and see that I received an e-mail from Target. It says "We've reviewed your recent order, and discovered you're entitled to a refund. You should see the refund of within 10-14 business days."...
Maybe they realized I didn't get my 5% RedCard discount and decided to apply it...even though I paid with a gift card
. So I went into my orders and took a look at the receipt...YIKES!!
The receipt shows that they used (1) $150 gift card and (1) $100 gift card, but the did not charge anything to the other $150 gift card (even though it is listed as one of the payment methods used!) and that $154.04 was charged to m RedCard
. So I am guessing that they caught that glitch and they will be applying the $150 gift card and crediting back my Red Card. I'm glad they caught it quickly because I would have lost my mind if my Target bill showed up with an extra $150 charged to it. So keep an eye on your statements...I have NO idea how this happened, but I'm glad they caught it.
