***The Official October 2016 Thread***

Yay!! I'm so glad I just stumbled across this thread! We are going Oct. 1-7 and staying in a royal room at POR. Our first stay in a moderate!! Our 4 year old princess is going to love it!

Hi! Hoping you can help me please....I'd love to bring the family over from Australia in late October/early November 2017 but I'm concerned about it being hurricane season and feeling like we should play it safe and go to Disneyland instead. I'm really interested to hear your experiences regarding the weather for Halloween and shortly after, over the past 7 years please. Thanks in advance!

I'm not the person you quoted but I have gone to Disney in the fall five times before. We've never experienced anything to do with hurricanes. I know it does happen but in all the times I've been there nothing ever has. It's been rainy on some trips but nothing like hurricane weather. Hope that helps!

It can happen, no doubt. See this TR about getting stuck in Disney, not because of a hurricane there but one at her home. http://www.disboards.com/threads/im...lightfully-unliveable-tr-new-tr-9-27.3018349/ But it is not common. You play the odds. FWIW, I'm still planning on going. DLR and WDW are different experiences so depends on what you are looking for. I'd probably still look into trip insurance to play it safe.

Thank you both. I've just read about Hurricane Sandy after reading some of that very entertaining trip report and far out that was worse than I expected - particularly as it happened exactly when we are planning to visit both Orlando and NYC. Food for thought, thank you for your time & advice :)

Thanks for doing this thread! It helps to have all the months information in one place! I'll be staying at CBR from 10/20 to 10/25 as an early college graduation/late 21st birthday gift with my mom. So excited!

I feel your pain. For me personally, I'm not so much concerned about the dinner packages for RoL. I just need to know what TIME the show will be, so I can plan my ADRs accordingly! Not knowing is killing me! :scared:

This is me ... need to know what time! ADR date is coming up rapidly.

Got all my ADRs this morning, except the elusive BOG dinner!! Our last trip, we booked like 4 months before so this was a whole new experience!
This is our second trip, but we're trying all new-to-us dining this time. '50s Prime Time, CRT (before park opens!!), Kona Cafe, and Tusker House.
Any suggestions for a MK TS backup, if I can't get BOG? We were lucky enough to do dinner there our last trip, so if we don't get it, we'll probably be ok.

I love Tony's!

Tony's gets mixed reviews and often negative. The menu looks good to me though but check it out on the restaurant board. Skipper's Canteen (if the menu looks like something you all would eat) and Liberty Tree Tavern (again check the menu -- heard not so great vegetarian options if you are vegetarian) are both additional options that could work nicely. Most importantly, keep checking for the BOG reservations. Oftentimes something will get released and you can jump on it. GL!

I was very skeptical of Tonys for the same reason, but it was the only reservation before MNSSHP we could get at a TS restaurant on our 2013 trip so we decided to put that aside and try it out and it's been fabulous the last two times we've been there. Great food and great service!

Thanks! We ended up going with Crystal Palace. Liberty Tree didn't have any dinner openings and my DH thought Tony's might be too heavy of a meal. I'm definitely keeping my tabs on BOG, I checked everyday for our last trip and was able to get it.

I've been trying relentlessly to get a BOG for myself and my 2 girls, I was able to snag one today for Breakfast, which I really dont want to do, but I'm holding on to it until a lunch opens! :)

We are set for Sept 29 - Oct 4, and with any luck we will just make the free dining cut-off (if they offer it)! Looking forward to my favorite time of year.... MNSSHP and Food & Wine! All I need is a little pixi dust..... pixiedust:

Good to know -- I might put that on our possible list for the end of the trip (where we are keeping flexible so we can go where the kids want to go). DH in particular is an Italian food fanatic!

So glad to find this thread! My mom and I are going to be visiting the World (with one day at Universal) from Oct. 17-24! We are staying at POP!

I made me ADRs yesterday, including the elusive BOG dinner on the Sunday we are planning to go to MNSSHP. I'm hoping that this pixie dust lasts for when we attempt to purchase party tickets!

I think I've got it all figured out now, after making and cancelling a gazillion reservations, I called today and got BBB in the castle, I had a ressie for Disney Springs, but really wanted her to have the castle. So... then I had to try and reconfigure everything around the BBB res, my head hurts.. but it's done (for now) Now I'm holding on to a BOG lunch res that I'm on the fence about, its at 11:35 and not a MK day, we could hop, but we're already hopping the 2 days prior, so not sure about that one yet.
