News Round Up 2016

No, there are different locations for some of the effects, but the rides are very similar. The author ghost addition in California is the main difference there. The Florida ride has the upside down stair room that is not in Disneyland. You are right that some minor effects are in the loading area instead of the ride, but it's fairly small differences. There's rides in Disneyland that are hugely different from Florida (pirates, space mountain, tower of Terror) but that isn't one of them

Unless you go Sept - Jan. Then Disneyland is a completely different (and wonderful) ride IMO. We are so happy we went to Disneyland a couple years ago for that reason.

On the new Disney Dish with Jim Hill and Len Testa, Jim says that while the tech issues are causing the delays, don't be surprised to see them take this opportunity to add a Jungle Book presence to the show.

Just came out of Jungle Book. While I think the animated original will always be better this new version was very good. I thought Bill Murray played Baloo incredibly well. All of the voice acting was very good. I think you couldn't have cast it any better. It's definitely a hit in my book.

Presumably the choreography and content would have been finished for ages at this point? If the delays are tech related, they had better be much more concerned about fixing the issues than about haphazardly sandwiching in new content. I was interested to hear Pete's opinion that the show is ready but they are holding off to save some coins until Shanghai opens.

Elliot was a sweet big green loveable dragon that's why everyone loved him. The movie itself didn't do well at the boxoffice but became a favorite after it was released on vhs and showed on TV. This movie is nothing like the original and to me it's more like finding a young tarzan type child in the forest. I doubt I will go see it because I don't want to spoil my memories of the original. I wish disney would stop remaking classics and live actioning animated favorites. It's a shame that Iger okays all these movies for the disney brand and the only "new" things we get are from marvel or lucasfilms.

Well, Tomorrowland is an original story and live action movie (though it didn't do great box-office wise)

If they are having technical problems getting the current show to work as is, there is no way that they would go and add something new prior to the old show working.
He said it would probably be akin to adding sequences to World of Color like with Frozen.

actually i heard that the reason the show was delayed was because during testing, higher ups decided they wanted things plussed in a couple of areas and that the run was very choppy and it needed work. It had nothing to do with budget cuts or shanghai. also from what i have heard everything new is supposed to open roughly the same time this summer but ROL was set forearth day. It would be cool to add jungle book segments but i bet they are already in there because its animal based.

I don't see a reason for them to add a Jungle Book segment to that show. By that time the film will be well beyond its release date, so it's not like they need some additional promotion to sell more tickets. Plus, I don't think this is an IP based show, so adding a film in there would make it feel all over the place.
