Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

:mic:I have a question specifically aimed at a select group on this site - It's for those that have emailed George and received call backs from his office.

Do you keep coming back on this site this week to see what fun things are being discussed or do you just not truly trust you will be notified as soon as there is information to be shared?
:confused3 :scratchin

and by the way, I'm one who got a call and I'm a little from column A and a little from column B...:jumping1:

I am a subset of this group - emailed George but not called by his office. Call me Ignored by George. :headache:

So since we're talking about nothing again today, I'm home with sick DS3 today. Since the character M&G slate has been relatively stable (other than Marie out and Joy and Sadness in, although J&S were known) I made the leap and decided to print the pages for the kids' custom autograph books (thanks to the folks in the DISigns forum). Seventy-five 8.5x11 sheets of matte photo paper (and ink) later I'm sure that Disney will now switch up the characters at CP and all 3 parks.

You're welcome, friends, you're welcome. :duck:

But I made custom covers and did my own Joy and Sadness pages (in the style of others). I miss having the time to do graphic art work.

These are great!! And thanks for the reminder that I need to get going in my kids' autograph books... Do you mind if I use your Joy and Sadness pages?

Pixie dust for your ds GWS! Love your pages my ds isn't doing an autograph book this year:sad: Talk about sadness! He says he's too old:sad: 14 isn't too old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least I have 3 character meals booked and he's agreed to do a few other M&Gs. To all of you with little ones enjoy them doing the cute things while you can.

Since we don't have any new news to talk about - random question to The Floating Bear .....your user name ... is that a characters name? Just curious...:flower:

Not at all! The ones above are small ones. I'm not sure if you can get to the whole bucket from those links or not. If the link below gets filtered, let me know and I'll PM them to you.

Edit: I see that the link isn't working. I will PM.

Thank you! 14 is too old, huh? ;) At least he's willing to do the character meals with you.

Those are AWESOME!
I hadn't really figured out what to do for autographs on our trip next week. Guess I need to do that.
Melody has done them all.
Disney Character Encyclopedia
Vinylmation
T-Shirt
Pillow Case
Personalized Autograph Book
Store Bought Autograph Book
Draw string bag

Guess the only thing we haven't done is a photo mat. That's tempting but we had really hoped to tour bagless. Maybe it would fit in Mom's scooter somewhere? They have baskets, right?

It's funny that you say that...I've been thinking a lot about that with this trip. Mine are 11 and 9 - still young but definitely not littles anymore. DS11 doesn't want to do Jedi training for the first time! It's bittersweet - happy not to have to deal with sign up but sad! He may change his mind, of course. DD9 didn't want to do BBB this year either, and we're pretty cut back on princesses! Just Mulan, really. I told them we were cutting back on character meals, which they love, and they wanted to keep CP. I have an 'Ohana breakfast scheduled as a surprise, but it feels funny not to have a princess meal! Even DS loves them - he gets starstruck, lol! It's been so fun to plan with them, since they're so into it, but still bittersweet for mama to leave one stage for another! I'm getting weepy just writing this!

I've often said to DH that one of my favorite things about Disney is how it changes in different phases of your - and your children's - lives! Especially with our kids - there are old favorites but always new things each and every time! pixiedust:

And not to sound sappy but to echo what @figmentfan423 said - enjoy every phase!

Ok April Loungers,

I have the following ADR's I'm going to cancel (my MIL finally decided what days they are joining us). I also posted them on the April Cancellation board, but I know that some of you have been looking for reservations too (you know, for back-up planning) :rotfl:

Here's what I have. PM me if anyone wants anything. All reservations are for 7 people, unless otherwise noted.

4/15 Mama Melrose 3:45p
4/16 Chefs de France 4:50p (this is for 9 people)
4/17 Tusker House 9:10am
4/17 Mama Melrose 3:40p
4/18 Akershus 10:30a

Hi guys! Thx for making me laugh everyday, and entertaining me at work! Had a few pages to catch up to. I was on the phone trying to book Sense of Africa for an hour and a half!! Still not loaded into the system! Oh well Atleast I have u guys for support. Lol

I'm happy to say that DW and I had a serious conversation about our trip last night and decided we are keeping the full 7 days at Disney instead of jumping over to Universal the last 2. We'll pencil AK in for a night slot and if it looks like ROL isn't happening, we'll adjust. The cost of swapping out days would have paid for another cheaper vacation and we remembered our original mentality was that 7 days allowed us to have a more relaxing vacation. If we need to skip a night or a morning at a park to rest, so be it!

My DS7 and DS11 want to do Jedi Training this year. I would absolutely do rope drop to sign them up. Last time we went they both were turned away because they don't speak English - which I understand. My then DS4 started crying when I told him no. The CM at sign up was super sweet to them and gave each a pin from her lanyard. DS11 now has English in school in his 2nd year and he's been teaching DS7 so hopefully I can get them into JTA this year. So DD3 and I can sit happily in front of the tage and cheer for them!

Our AK day is May 13. Trying to decide whether we should switch our 4pm safari fp to 9:30am and plan to rope drop EE. We had originally planned to rope drop the safari and the fast pass at 4pm would be a second ride- it's hard to make these decisions without knowing what's going on exactly.
