Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

I did online check in last night on my phone and I was only able to choose two requests and I chose Jamaica and ground floor but I couldn't specify a building. Do I need to call to do that? How far apart are the buildings in Jamaica? I was going to request 45 because it was closest to the bridge but how much difference would the farthest building in Jamaica make?

We are currently in the furthest Jamaica building 41, our previous two stays we were in 45, it is only at most an extra 2 minutes to bridge as there is a pathway through the buildings that saves a lot of time. Same for bus stop at most an extra minute walk as you cut diagonally across the car park. Before I thought it had to be 45 but now I would be happy with any Jamaica. I will say it is quieter on the second floor rather than ground floor. I avoid ground floor if I can.

Oops! I posted this on the old thread!
Wow! There's an awful lot of information here to get through! Thanks to everyone for contributing! We are booked to stay at CBR 19 August - 2nd September. It's our 7th trip to WDW but our first time at this resort. We have booked preferred rooms but wanted some advice about further requests. I don't think we reallyneed any but it's always good to know options - so is there anything we need to know about the preferred rooms? TIA

Since you booked preferred you are going to be very close to the food court, main feature pool and 2 bus stops. Other than if you have a floor preference I can't think of anything to request. We hapoen to like 2nd floor. Maybe a corner room as the second window makes the room feel even bigger.

If I booked water/pool view and would like to be close to food court and the main feature pool....what would should I request? I notice that the preferred buildings also have some rooms that are "water view rooms" on touring plans room finder. Is this correct? Is it best to request a certain village or "close to food court, main pool" I've never stayed at this resort before. Thank you for any help!

One more question that I can't seem to find......is there a specific village that is better for the bus situation? Is the order of stops for pick up and return home for each park listed somewhere? Do all the park buses stop at the check-in building or is that for a special internal, non-parks bus? Thanks for any information!

Jamaica seemed regularily to be the first stop for drop-off while we were there. Almost every bus came into the resort the back way & dropped off/picked up at Jamaica first.

Oh that's good to know thanks!

Are the buses at CBR decently timed? Do they tend to fill up and be crazy crowded? We've stayed at POFQ and BC (one night- didn't use transportation there) and have always had great luck with buses at POFQ.

I'm nervous about booking CBR due to how many bus stops there are and the potential for over crowded buses. Right now we're booked for the end of September at POFQ again but we've been thinking about switching to CBR. We will hVe an 8 year old and a 1 year old with us. Any input about buses is greatly appreciated as we won't have a car!

I've just spent the last hour and a half reading through this and I may have missed what I'm looking for...

We have always stayed at POP. We are going in Sept for a week (family of four, kids are 11 and 7). IF free dining is offered then we would like to stay at CBR (so upgrade from pop) so that we can have the table service dining plan. At POP sometimes we would get a preferred room, sometimes not. Either way we were never more than a 5-6 minute walk from the food court/main pool/buses.

Worst case scenario, with a standard room at CBR, how long of a walk could we potentially end up being from the main pool/food court (at a moderate walking speed)?

Thank you!

I would request Trinidad North or Martinique. Either of those would put you extremely close to OPR and the main pool.

All of our stays at CBR have been during Free Dining when the resort is at capacity and have always had excellent bus service. Any resort can have issues but we've never had any problems at CBR.

The longest walk from a standard room would be 6-7 minutes at a very leisurely pace. FYI, 85% of the standard rooms are a 3-6 minute walk to OPR and the main pool.

The good news is we made reservations yesterday to stay at CBR - our third stay on-site!

The bad news is the reservations aren't until March 2nd, 2017.

Until a few years ago, we always stayed at a family time share, but when that was sold 3 years ago we started staying on-site. Our first stay was at POR and we really loved staying on-site and getting the Disney experience 24/7. We just returned from our second stay 2 weeks ago which was at the Beach Club and had another great experience - really loved the short walk to Epcot.

This trip is going to be right after a Disney Cruise - we get back on a Thursday and decided to do some park days before we head home. We will only be there for two days and most of our time will be at the parks. It came down to CBR or CSR as we wanted to stay somewhere new - the 3rd bed and the extra sq ft put CBR ahead. I hope we made the right call, but I'm sure we would of been happy at either place.

This thread was great to learn about the resort - specifically the information about the bus stops and the routes. Even though we will have our car, we have never had any issues with the buses and plan to use them both days.

Thanks for all the information. Look forward to participating in this thread over the next several months!

We are a family of five who has stayed at POR twice. I saw that Caribbean Beach was an option for the first time, and the price was great, so we booked a few days ago. We are going March 22-25, and then driving to Fort Myers to enjoy the beach. Because this is a short trip, we want to maximize our time. We are active, and I don't mind walking, but I would prefer to be close to the bus stop and perhaps the pool. The food court is unimportant, as one of the days we have an early reservation for BOG, and the other days we will eat breakfast in the room. All other meals will likely be at the parks. My daughter has asthma, and I'd like to also be away from any smoking rooms. Any suggestions? Also, early on in the thread, I read about "the bridge". Is this significant? :) Thank you for answering my questions! :) Complete newbie to CBR, but very excited!

We have stayed at CBR 3 times- first time Martinique, 2nd time Jamaica, and 3rd time Barbados- with Jamaica and Aruba you can use the pedestrian bridge which makes getting to pool and food court easy and like a 2 minute walk. I liked Martinique because it was close to Old Port Royale food court area. The thing with the the bus thing is I would recommend going to touringplans.com and looking up their room finder for CBR where you can plug in how far you would like to be from bus and food court and it will give you room suggestions. We did that and were able to call or fax the resort our top choice as well as putting top choice when setting up preferences online and by doing that it got us close to bus but if you don't request it any room in any village can be far away because of how many buildings there are in each village and how big it is.

Just booked through Orbits to get an additional 15% off. Checking in April 22 for 6 nights then moving over to Universal Studios for 4 more nights. pixiedust:First time staying at CBR. Have stayed at all the other moderates. The price for CBR was $400.00 less then Riverside, so thought we would give it a try. Can't wait to try this resort after hearing all the good and the bad. :thanks:

Great to know, thank you!! I have the same type of room booked so had the exact, same question. :)

What is the best way to request your room location? Call the main line? Contact the resort directly? If so, how far ahead of time? Thanks for any help!
