Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hello everyone :) quick question.... I'm pretty sure I saw this info somewhere else but can't find it anymore. Did the bus service at beach club, board walk and swan and dolphin recently change so Epcot area resorts aren't sharing a bus any longer? Thank you for your help!

The BWI bus no longer shares with the Swan and Dolphin. But the BC and YC still share a bus.

Checked into the YC today. The new lounge opened on Sunday according to Hyacinith who checked us in. I didn't get any pictures yet, maybe tomorrow. You walk in the same place, to the right there is an open doorway to the serving area. (This was previously a guest room.) There are 2 large counters with the offerings, plates etc. The table area is about the same size but is updated. The old serving area has been remodeled with a tv & a few comfortable chairs. There is no couch or coffee table anymore.

We received some major Pixie Dust which I will post about after we get home.

The weather is hot & humid. Unfortunately, my husband nicely shared his cold with me & I am just miserable right now. We had a Candlelight Processional package booked at Chefs of France tonight. We kept the dinner but decided not to do the CP. I could barely eat a salad & soup & didn't have the stamina to wait for the late show. We have seen the CP before & it would have been nice to see it again. Maybe next time.

The line for the Friendship Boat outside of Epcot was probably 80- 100 people long at about 6:45. Everyone on their way to see the Osbourne lights. Glad we never bother with the boat but walk back instead. Christmas decor is wonderful as it always is!

My husband and I are taking a trip by ourselves from 1/16 to 1/20/16, BC club level, GV so can you please add us to the list? We bought into DVC and stayed at the GFV last August so we are excited to go back to the BC and to new rooms. We have AP's so we are taking advantage of room discounts, the use of our AP passes, and Frontier came out with some great fares (I can try and justify almost any trip to Disney). I am hoping to get to see Teena before she goes! I've got a lot to catch up with on this board.

Well ... it is official. My last day at the Beach Club will be January 25. Happy the house is sold. Unhappy because it's way too fast. I thought I had a few more months. So now I will be just like the rest of you ... counting down the days until my trip to WDW!!! And with Princess Lily, I'm sure it will be at least twice a year!!! In the meantime, stay tuned. Lily and Jeanne arrive Christmas night and after we celebrate Christmas on the 26th, we will be at the parks every day until they leave on January 2nd. So look for us if you are going to be at WDW over Christmas and if not, look for the pictures Dee will post off and on.

Teena so sorry that you will be leaving much sooner than expected but I am so happy that you will be near the girls every day. You are loved by many and your absence will leave a hole that will be tough to fill.

Dinner last night at the Yachtsman Steakhouse was as good as it always has been. Unfortunately, it's always our last dinner of the vacation when we go to WDW. The bags are packed and we catch the 9:35am Depression express to MCO for a 12:45pm flight back home. Thinking of doing the cruise next year instead of the parks but that's some planning for later. In the mean-time the weather was great, the food and service outstanding, and we got to hug Teena a couple of times. Great memories made.

Just got back from our 35th anniversary stay at Beach Club CL water view (room 5657). We started off with issues when we checked in, our room wasn't ready which was fine since it was 11am. We went to the CL desk and were told that we owed $1100.00- 20 minutes later they figured out that we were paid in full (thanks to 2 different managers)!!! We left our luggage with bell services along with our magic bands! Thanks to Teena and a backstage tour of the area where they keep the luggage I was able to get our bands. We got to the room later in the day, which was absolutely beautiful. 1 queen bed, a couch and a desk, a full balcony overlooking the back entrance to the BC looking at Boardwalk!! The only thing missing was a CLOCK (really). I had to ask for the clock for 3 days. I was a little disappointed that the CL no longer will give you bottles of water. (I asked different cast members several times)

On the second day of our vacation- we received 5 balloons in our room for our anniversary. On the third day we received special 35th anniversary pins.

We had a fantastic 10days! We usually stay at the YC (this was our first time at the BC). We will now be staying at the BC for all our future visits. I was so happy to finally meet the wonderful Teena and visit with her.

Time to start planning for next year!!

Like so many others Teena, I want to add my Thank You for all that you have done to make thousands of families feel welcome and special
I also totally understand your unhappiness at how quickly this is moving for you. Your life in Florida has been a very special and happy time for you.
I wish the next chapter will be special and fulfilling with your girls as well.
Keep in touch

"Depression Express" that's exactly how I feel when we have to take the bus to the airport!!!

HI! So for the busses- it would just be to go to MK, AK or Disney Springs for us from the BC/YC. Do the busses always go to the YC first, then the BC? Would be be better off going to the YC bus stop if we wanted to get a seat? Thx in advance!

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but, I just received the letter from Disney Destinations that the BCV will be under refurbish during my stay. Will be there end of may till Mid June.

The buses do stop at YC first. When I was at the BC over Labor Day weekend, the waits for transportation at the BC were terribly long...especially for MK. There was a late afternoon when there were probably 40+people waiting for about 45 minutes. When a MK bus finally approached, there was only standing room available, and only about five people could board that bus.
When I was recently at the YC, our empty bus pulled up for one of the parks and quickly filled up...so much, so, that we ended up having an "express" bus to the park, as there was no room for anyone else. Part of the demand depends on how busy the resorts are. If it seems really busy at the parks and resorts, it may be worth the walk over to the YC to catch a bus.

I believe that the YC bus stop is still at the Convention Center, due to construction in front of the YC; maybe someone can confirm current bus location for YC.

Thanks! We don't go until April 29... So far we are booked at the BC... but from reading on here- I think either BC or YC will be amazing! So... on a discount watch to see if we will move to YC. Then I will officially add us to the Be Our Guest list! I am just soooo excited for our first deluxe hotel trip! Thanks for the details! Appreciate!

For those here who have questioned the lack of thorough security at the parks' bag check, metal detectors were installed today.

Anyone stay in a standard view room where the view wasn't so bad? The best of the worst? Any within easy access of the quiet pool? Thank you! We stayed once at the Beach Club a few years ago and really liked it but I like to try a different resort each trip.

For the parks (MK, AK, Epcot), the bus stops at YC, goes to BC (if there is room) and then on to the parks. With the YC bus stop currently at the convention center, we walked over a couple of times to catch it there rather than stand at the BC just to make sure we got a seat. For Disney Springs, its Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC BW then on to the downtown area if they aren't stopping at Typhoon Lagoon on the way over. On the way back it's TL, Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC then BW. That's why it's highly recommended to take a cab, especially when returning. I would like to say that we did not experience any significant wait times at all, either at the resort or at the parks last week. However, the boats are a different story. They are only running four boats and with the high demand going from Epcot to HS because of the Osbourne lights it really is frustrating. They may put an "express" boat on in the late afternoon for the Epcot to HS run (not stopping at the resorts) but there is no guarantee of this.

We received the same letter and we are staying 5/12-20/16. We booked BCV because we thought it would be nearly complete by our May 2016 trip. I suppose we will survive--we made it through two trips during renovation at BWV. :)

I've read in a few places that they are removing all clocks from Disney Hotel rooms and that you now have to request one. What's that all about!
