It seems so off to me that Open Table starts accepting reservations on 09/16, the restaurant opens on 09/30, but WDW DINE won't start accepting reservations until 11/01?? Is there usually that long of a delay between a Disney Springs restaurant opening and WDW DINE opening for reservations?
Yeah the boathouse didn't start accepting reservations until almost a month after opening.

So $50 to enter a store was over the line/ridiculous?

I'll wait for the "the free market is always right" excuse for Disney trying that preposterous donkey of an idea...but the reality is that it was just a souless, low rent move.

Lets hear it.

Well technically in this case the free market did work. They over reached and as a result are in the position of not only refunding people but still having to hand out the tote bags and give them special treatment anyway. The free market works great when:

1) It's actually free so there are alternatives
and/or
2) Customers actually push back.

There wasn't even the thinnest coating of pixie dust on this particular offering. They should have added the cupcake. :D

Disney springs is supposedly getting a high end Mexican restaurant in the springs area.
The best of news! WDW has always been lacking in this respect... Epcot does have great options though (I have to say the best part about that table service is the ambiance), and the food court at Coronado Springs is actually fairly decent for quick service. I haven't tried that Resort's higher end restaurant, but reviews are not extremely great.

I'm excited to see what comes of it!

"There is a giant new wall up where the Jungle Cruise restaurant is going. They don’t want us to get an early look."

Or maybe it's just time to build the actual wall of the restaurant.
Those are restrooms and utility room.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. If the offering was overpriced and rejected by consumers, forcing the company to abandon the offering, doesn't it indicate that the free market worked?

Yes exactly. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like any hotels are in the works at moment.
The last time they opened something huge, hotel occupancy exploded in the Resort district. As they get a handle on their parking situation it will become more feasible to add new Resorts. Maybe not this year or next, but by 2020 or beyond I wouldn't be shocked if they started moving in that direction.

For everyone's information this new Tokyo Resort is in fact already owned by the OLC through a subsidiary of a subsidiary. It's going to be about a 25 million dollar conversion for relaunch. I'm not quite sure what the idea behind the theme is because in Japan I doubt 25 million will get you tons of change for the their two large towers:

One's French style and one's supposed to be reminiscent of California. It's not physically located next to or even extremely close to Tokyo Disneyland, necessitating a bus ride in. It's really about boosting an existing property's profile and putting the Disney name on the building thereby bumping occupancy. Not enough people stayed at hotel when it was just a hotel? No problem. Put the logo on the side and it's a top performer! Plus instead of riding in ugly buses, now they'll be riding in the much cooler Duffy the Disney Bear buses...
