Canadian Buffoon's Solo Disney Vacation - Update 07/08! pp99 - Here today gone tomorrow

Oh.My.Gosh. No worries, we'll be here - just get yourself through this week in one piece!:hug:

Thanks for the hugs Tracy.
Still so tired.
I'm drinking Coke... at eight o'clock in the morning.

And it actually is going to get worse before it gets better.
When tonight finally ends, I hope to sleep in a little, but I have stuff to do during the day...
Because I go to work for 3pm and work a 16hr shift until 7am the next morning.

That Toronto trip is coming just in the nick of time.

So why take it to the dealership? The bulb will burn out eventually. Problem solved. :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

THEN GO TO BED!!!!!

I DID!!!

I think. I don't remember.

Like I said... just let the Disdads know if you need the extraction team on standby. :cool2:

How effective are they?
They'd have to fight their way through hordes of toddler to young adult girls.
Not to mention the roving packs of dance moms.

:faint: Remind me again why we have kids?

Because we have an aversion to relaxation and contentment.

They failed me at my school's spring concert!

See???? See Andy? If they couldn't rescue Mark from a spring concert,
what's the odds of success at a dance recital????

I played clarinet for 8 years between middle and high school. The soprano clarinet it would Seem. Very small band.. I didn't know there were so many types of clairnet!!

Actually, I asked her about it when I picked her up from school.
Nope. She's interested in the Soprano.
I believe her exact words were "Yuck! Not the Alto! That's gross!"

:sad2:

We're polar opposites.
I've played the clarinet a little tiny bit
(took one or two lessons just to make sure what I was doing was sort of right),
and my preference is for the lower register sounds. She likes the higher tones.

I have a feeling I'm not going to be able to rent it so she can try it out.

Gross? That's Interesting…
Maybe you can find a used one (a bit of wishful thinking there).
Either way I wish her well on the pursuit. You still can’t have too much art in the world.

I started out playing the “licorice whip” in school as well. Picked it because it looked interesting (unfortunately there was no counseling or tryout periods back in the Stone Age). I gravitate to the lower registers as well, so it didn’t take very long to figure out I was in the wrong section. It was too late to change horn types by then though, so I switched to the larger horns. Played the Bass version most of the time. Which also meant that I was shadowing trombone and tuba parts a lot and they always have the most fun and interesting bits of the arrangements (as far as I was concerned).

Well enough of that…
Don’t want to boar the regular readers with all this long-hair nonsense.

Cool! Another clarinet player. :)
I knew of the bass one in addition to the Bb since some kids play it in the school band...

But check out how many there are! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clarinet_family
I had no idea!

It's possible. My clarinet (which according to Kay is now her clarinet) was a used one.

Huh. I find that interesting, because if I'd been in a band (our school didn't have one)
I probably would have followed a very similar path.

Tough. My TR and I encourage others to tell their stories.

I had heard of bass as well, and yesss that's where I went to try to figure out which one I played. Cause honestly, I knew I didn't play the bass, but didn't know past that!

And now we're both educated.
This TR is nothing if not informative.

We've had what band class and marine biology in the last two weeks alone!

Coming up soon, Geography!

One summer, when I was at band camp... Wait, I never went to band camp.

Andy answered that exactly as I was going to just a little bit farther below.

My youngest DD used to always end a question with a raised question sound.
"I think I'm tired? Because I went to sleep to late? Because I was excited? Because it's Christmas?"

Ruby and I would frequently tell her "Say "this one time in band camp"."

She got pretty tired of that after a while.

But I did play clarinet for one year. Then I switched to flute. If I ever returned to playing an instrument, I would switch back to clarinet. The clarinet may not be as lipstick friendly, but it is such a nice mellow sound.

::yes:: That's why I started playing it.
Loved the sound.
Not the high notes, though.

That's it!!

*whispers* It's A Small World after all...

OMG!!!! I was going over posts, allocating points, etc...

I didn't even see that little post at the bottom!

And here I'd gone and forgiven you after looking at the sad wittle puppy!

My God! Is there no end to @BibbitybobityLu and her evil ways?????

I hope things slow down for you soon. And no worries on the TR's...we all fall a bit behind on occasion. Just ask me! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Monday... Hopefully Monday. Right about the time the plane's wheels lift off the runway.

And tell me about falling behind! I saw that massive update you posted.
I'm going to ignore it for a bit while I finish up my next update.
But I will get to it.
And I know Mark (@Captain_Oblivious ) just posted an update too.
I haven't even looked at his yet.

His TR!!!! Minds out of the gutter people!!!

Oh, forget it.
Too firmly entrenched.

FYI folks.
It's looking good for a Saturday early evening update.

Of course I've said that before, but at least this time it's pretty much all written.
Just gotta go over it.
