Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I was on the magic your band site last night and love the customization option. We will be celebrating our 10 yr anniversary and want to decorate our bands for it. What ideas can you give me for my husbands band?

I would love to see pics of the finished magic your band bands.

When are you going? I did a darth vader for my brother in law. I made his finger line up where the Mickey RFID head is so that it looks like Darth is saying "point here" LOL!

I plan to do a Wreck it Ralph theme for my husband, probably with nail polish. I'm thinking bricks on a red magic band. Maybe a HERO medal on one side. I have a vinyl Ralph decal I bought off Etsy a while back.

We are heading down at the end of September. We'll have one set of halloween bands and one set of anniversary bands.

I can't wait to hear what you think of them. I have done the nail polish, tattoo, rhinestone route but I would love something simpler.

I bet doing all that was fun though! I would've done it that way but my biggest fear would be messing it up horribly...I get into super perfectionist mode when it comes to arts and crafts or anything Disney. Blah. Hence the somewhat lazy route I took . Oops. I am excited to see how it turns out though. Now if only they didn't have to come all the way from the UK. Lol jk Im just being impatient.

For those of you doing the magic your band option, I'd love to see how they come out. I know they recommend images at least 300 dpi, but I'm a little worried based on the preview that my bands might come out all pixelated. Would love to hear some opinions...

I just received my order from Magic Your Bands today, and I am very impressed. We don't have our magic bands themselves, yet, since our trip isn't until December, but the skins came in a timely fashion (for free shipping from the UK), and arrived in great shape. They even included a couple of "bonus" strips, which was awesome of them to do. We didn't do the custom, design-your-own ones. I ordered the carbon-fiber one for my husband.

I also placed a second order with My Fantasy Bands, and am equally impressed with them. The skins look good, with clear, sharp printing, and the vinyl feels good-quality. I ordered the peacock blue glitter for my daughter's band, and the "who are you" for my band.

Now, just to wait for Disney to ship the actual bands, so I can see how application goes, and see how well they stick.

But from a service/initial quality standpoint, I'm very pleased with both companies.

After you apply them, run the blowdryer over them for 30 seconds or so, it makes them adhere better to the bands.

Mousetogo....WOW...those are awesome:worship:.
How long did it take you to get them all done? I have at least 4 for our trip this year and then at least 9 to do next year, plus tshirts for everyone in our group.

Thanks, they took awhile only because I spent a long time reading through everyone's excellent posts here and finding the right supplies and experimenting with what worked for me. I made alot of mistakes so I would remove everything and then start all over again (many times). At first I thought using a spray vinyl paint would be great as it would be an easy way to make a nice smooth base color. I would spray and for maybe four days it would be nice and supple and then it would start to crack so I would remove and start over with a different brand of vinyl spray. I even tried a vinyl base primer with no luck. No brands stayed supple long term which I am not sure why as it is made for vinyl seats. Once I gave up and used the base nail polish coat, the decorating went much faster and was the fun part!
I found stickers on clear plastic backing showed up more brilliant than tattoos and I would cut real close around the edges (before peeling them off) to avoid too much of the clear plastic showing. I used several thick layers of base coat as a topper.

So basically you did a base coat, stickers, and then a few layers of base coat on top? The stickers stayed on without peeling off? I love how much better they show up than the tatoos. I just worry stickers would come off.

The stickers on the clear plastic and rhinestone groupings had fairly sticky backing. I applied and pressed down good smoothing out any air bubbles/wrinkles. Even with the single rhinestones, I just put on a small dot of base polish, pushed them onto band and held there a minute, I did not glue them. The top coats covered all and sealed edges well. My top coats were pretty thick. Nothing lifted or fell off and we wore long sleeves and jackets alot while we were there. They didn't get wet from swimming. If yours are for busy kids they may not be as durable, but we had no issues. They looked the same when we came home as when we left.

Mousetogo those look great! Our bands will be shipping out this week, get excited!! Hubby has decided on a grey band with R2D2 design as that will be easiest and neither of us are artists lol he is wanting to use chrome paint on his though like you would use on a model car? He wants the r2d2 to be more shiny lol has anyone tried that?

my favorite disney character is Esmeralda and I found a great drawing online that is simple enough for a band. I have mostly all of the supplies, which is just acrylic paints. Just need to grab some ultra fine paintbrushes and some spray sealer for when we are done. I need to go through my paints later today and get them together.

For my daughters band this year we are painting the band and doing some temporary tattoos I found, maybe some stickers if I find some good looking ones.
Next weekend is project magic band! Can't wait to post them once they are done, hopefully our ideas work out :genie:

Thank You! I used I think it was Wet N Wild Clear Base/Top Coat and they were very shiny which is why it was hard to get good photos as there was so many light reflections trying to get bright enough to show any detail. They really look far better in person than here. Sparkly also doesn't photo well. I have no talent painting like some of the others here that were so beautifully done, so I had to attach things to do mine. The stained glass design was one I copied onto tattoo paper, but I was disappointed that the color looked so much more washed out even with it being applied to a white band. I found a white band however did the best job of having designs stand out. Those I used white nail polish over the base coat.
The black and white polka dot was Duct Tape and the wider gold striping was car pin striping. Some of the little flowers were nail art tattoos and those showed up fairly well. Most of the large figures like Minnie, Mickey and Toy Story were the clear plastic backed stickers. I found those easiest, but harder to find which is why there are so many "repeats".

They look great, I'm not that talented either in drawing so I'm Hoping ours come out decent. I figured r2d2 is easy enough with squares and circles and rectangles it shouldn't be too hard. Esmeralda could bring us some problems but I think she will turn out ok. I was wondering how you did that stained glass one lol. I think that's my favorite

I found a photo of I think it was a phone case and then cropped it down to band size. The tattoo paper I printed it on I found difficult and time consuming. To get the size correct, I had to do alot of prints on just plain paper so I wouldn't waste the tattoo paper. I have never done tattoos before, so that was an education for me in itself.
