Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

I'm working on a running list of comparison photos for our next trip and I have to admit, I'm also keeping an eye out for things to add just for this thread at the same time. :p

Found our old 1999 Vacation Planning guide (we didn't get there until 2000) but it had a lot of long gone things, including those prices:

I also came across the 2000 Epcot Passport stuff we never used. It had all the Millennium Village stuff as well as a sticker page with half a dozen photo stickers from each country in World Showcase:

It's great that there are now more Dumbo's available to ride. But I do miss seeing this view in the early morning light. (Plus Snow White ride also visible.) Also found our 2000 Christmas party photo with awful backdrop they mailed to our house after the Christmas party. Old Skool, yo.

I'm glad the chocolate moose survived, but RIP insane S'More dessert option at Le Cellier!

And finally, when DH had a conference at WDW in 2005 he took my Mickey Weeble (circa 1975, also no longer seen) on a tour with him. Turns out both the giant castle mirror (not a fan) and Pleakley were immortalized with Mickey:

Someone had previously posted a picture of the "creepy godmother". Here she is again incongruously appearing in front of the construction of the Swan circa 1988.

It looks like the only one "looking" at the camera was The Fairy Godmother. lol

Last time I was there (2012), the Merry Christmas snow scene could be found at Downtown Disney. It was a bit shoved to the side but it was there. With all of the construction, it is probably in mothballs now.

By the time we returned after the 2004 Merry Christmas banner photo, the wording had changed. I certainly support inclusivity, but this seemed a bit strained. It's stationed near the Disney Christmas Store and that night we still attended Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

Back to WDW. The thing I miss is characters roaming the park. I don't have a picture to share, but hopefully someone else has one. :earsboy: I do recall Pluto pluto:putting his arm around me by surprise way back when. We waved to each other as we passed by, thinking that was it. Only to have him turn around and sneak up on me a minute later. It happened so fast I did not get a photo, but it's a great memory I cherish. ::yes:::love:[/QUOTE]

Yes! My first time at WDW was a one day trip to Epcot with my friend I had flown from CA to visit. It had to be 1991 or 92 and we were walking around not sure where to go when something pinched the back of my leg. I turned around and it was the fox from Pinocchio! I was so surprised and weirded out, we laughed and ran off and he followed us! He kept getting fresh with me. It was the craziest thing! Then Pinocchio came by and waved off the fox and sat next to me on a bench. I have a pic of me and Pinocchio somewhere.

I have so much ephemera, mostly from WDW, and I pulled out a bag from a trip in January 1992. Scanned several brochures, passes, etc that I am posting tonight. I've been going to WDW since 1972 and have thousands of photos, but of course, not that many from the earlier years since they were taken with film and not from very good cameras at that time. I will also try to pull out a few photos and post those later from the 70's to 90's when I have time.

First: Caribbean Beach Resort Passport booklet with lists of the features of the resort, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, etc. Resort ID & transportation pass. Envelope from stationary provided in room and phone tablet.
