Be Our Guest Lunch FastPass Thread [PLEASE read the FAQs in the first post!]

I've been having the same issue and decided to utilize my contact at WDW directly involved with this system and BoG. He emailed me that the FP testing for BoG has officially concluded. Stand-by line is reopened. They have cut back the FP availability significantly and there is not a glitch. Chances are my FP availability was already gone by the time the email was even sent. Can check daily for openings but it's NOT A GLITCH. AND THEY REALLY ARE BOOKED. He double checked for me all my dates for a 10 day period on both my split stay res and my sisters as well. Just luck of the draw if you get an opening.

Smellyia - thank you SO MUCH for posting this and letting us know. This actually sets my mind at ease about a glitch. (And I was concerned when I started reading articles that said that standby line had been abolished, so I'm glad that's a second option.) So...long story short, thank you. :)

I almost hate that it's not a glitch. We have annual passes and have gone 4x this year and we have decided not to renew. With so many restrictions and needs to plan so far in advance for each trip we are ready to try some other experiences and maybe do WDW every other year. One of the ADR and FP+ saving graces was this particular perk and now that it's as got a ticket as A&E FP or a dinner ADR to BoG I'm over it.

Thanks for the info. If they have closed the experiment, I wish they wouldn't continue to send out emails with the link and an invitation to set up the fastpass. I got a second one just yesterday (split stay) and of course there was no avaiability.

This. And I still don't understand why some people can book on the days that others can't even get available?

I normally try not to make a big deal out of this stuff, because it's a privilege in the first place. But I will admit that this whole system and the way it's worked out has really disappointed me. I guess because we travel there so infrequently and really looked forward to this (and got 2 invites), and echoing what a PP said, it's so difficult to do anything anymore without planning in advance and so when those things book up (which some things go faster than I can even keep up with, and I don't wait around!), we're out of luck. (I have to admit though that I am not convinced it was full when I started having issues on 1/1, though. There are just too many inconsistencies).

Anyway, oh well. So much for trying out BoG.

I got 2 as well and so did my sister. And they are still offering the FP to guests but they decreased the availability significantly for some asinine reason.

That's very interesting, and is the first time we've ever managed to get anyone from within WDW to admit any knowledge of the system at all, even unofficially. Certainly in the past no one has even been able to accurately check the booking status or give an indication of how the 'test' was going - or indeed say anything much apart from "check with the concierge when you get to the resort" (who don't know anything either of course).

If that information is correct, it does seem odd that they are still sending out emails though. Probably even the people who set the system up don't know the test is finished (if indeed it is finished). However, what you say does tie in fairly well with the experiences that are currently being reported.

Can I update the FAQ post with your information, even if it's only as a rumour at this stage?

Andre

He said the testing phase is done and they are still utilizing the system as it is, including the emails, however, Disney (or whomever makes these random decisions) has decreased the availability of the fast passes so days closer will obviously have less or no availability. I would project this now to be a FP/ADR situation like A&E or BoG.

I went in October, May, and Jan of the last year and had ample availability during some of the busier times just a week before which is why I found this so odd. I've been trying since December but just very casually. I didn't pay much mind to the 27 day mark but just waited for the email for my window to open. My emails came inside the 27 day mark and I suspect my availability was already gone.

My contact for me is reliable as they were able to override the system and fix issues for me in addition to getting me my FP for BoG. They work directly for BoG, but I'm not sure my contact's exact job in the organization. Based on this if you would like to update rumor page feel free.

When I log on the furthest I can go is next week. I cannot click on Feb at all. Was trying to get Feb.4

I logged into the Be Our Guest booking site today to make a lunch reservation for Saturday, February 28. The site accepts my resort reservation and allows me to choose within the dates of my stay, Feb 27-Mar-3, but when I select a day it says "There are no FastPasses available. Please select a different day." Is this because of the 27 day booking window? Will the FastPasses only become available 27 days prior to the date? Please advise. Thanks!

Correct. Check back 27 days before the actual day you want to book. Feb. 6th opened up today.

Okay, since the BoG fastpass was obviously a fail for me (still ticked that I wasn't aware searching other times with a current reservation would DELETE that reservation...because otherwise we'd still have one, even though it wasn't with the rest of our group!!)....

Do the specific people on the FP reservation have to go? Because our two groups that DID get the FP don't include the children who wanted to go, so can some adults let children take their place?

I guess if not I'm just going to delete our reservation since it's not even worth it.

I am trying to get a reservation for Feb 8th. Is it really necessary to do it at 2:30am? It's a Monday so I have a hard time believing it won't be available if I just do it the next day. Anyone know?

I say I don't think it will be that popular because I got a BOG dinner reservation that day, but I would rather go for lunch if possible.

I didn't do mine until 7:15 in the morning of my 27th day out.

Then logged on later to modify our meals and found other times available, and yet other times when I logged on that evening to change dh's meal.

I just read the first post. I am 62 days out from the beginning of my stay, so I have time to figure this out, but the first post got me all confused about split stays and having multiple reservation numbers :confused3. We have a split stay, 6 nights at the GF and then 3 nights at POP. Both reservations are linked to my MDE. We'd like to do BOG lunch on our last afternoon in the parks, March 23-- we'll have the dining plan for our last 3 days at POP, and I know this is an expensive counter service meal, so we'd like to use the DDP for it. Is there going to be a problem because we have 2 reservations linked to the same MDE? If so, how do I correct that problem. Thanks, guys!

I booked my friends fp, this morning at 8 am. Time slot was 1:45-2-15. Worked out for ride fp and late breakfast at 'Ohana.

I am still checking for one on either February 12 or February 14th for lunch. Its still tells me there are no times available like it has since October.

Hard to say to be honest, as the rules appear to be changing and reports are that overall advanced availability has been reduced. See the update at the top of the FAQ in the first post. You may be fine, but you need to decide how important it is to you. Personally I'd suggest that as you've got an evening booking anyway, it's probably not worth a 2am morning and just take the risk, but that's up to you.

Possibly. Log on to the system now and if it asks for a reservation number use your second one, not the first. If the seven day window that you are presented with covers the date that you will want to book, then you should be fine when availability finally opens up 27 days out. All of those 7 days will just show as "no availability" at the moment, but that currently only means that the system hasn't stated booking them, not that they are already sold out. If you don't even see the right dates, you may need to create a new account with a new email address and try linking the second reservation to that (more details are in the FAQ).

I am still checking for one on either February 12 or February 14th for lunch. Its still tells me there are no times available like it has since October.

You are still more than 27 days out from your desired dates so there's no point in looking yet, it will just show the default "no availability" message. Have you read the FAQ in the first post by the way, as that should help you?
