Only 2 more weeks to wait until Jim and I are back at the BWI!!!! Getting very excited to be back. Not sure how much we will go into the parks, just want to relax and enjoy the resort as it has been a tough summer for us.
Will you be able to post LIVE?
BWI has gotten so expensive... I remember the days when it was $350 at the highest...long gone are those days...
They all keep going up on average of at least 5%/year. You shouldn't pay rack though. Always look for a % off discount or at least FD.
I check in late tomorrow night!! Can't wait, I've missed my home and F&W
. I am hoping we make it in time, I've been watching our flight all week, and it's been a bit delayed each night, but last night the flight from Mpls didn't take off until after the connecting flight from Atlanta took, so those people didn't make it. I sure hope that doesn't happen tomorrow, or I have rental car and lost point issues
I hope your flight was uneventful and you're having a great vacation!
Just received a call from WDTC who said that they wish to move us to another resort for our dates in late October. They said it's because of a refurbishment. I said that I'd read it was to be completed end of September; the representative said it has been extended.
Just curious, were you booked in a Garden Cottage?
We will be coming for our children's first vacation from 10/26-11/3!!
Welcome to the thread and I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin.
We are leaving 10/31 for our first BW stay and I'm soooo excited!!!!! Is it better to call or fax room requests the week before?
Also, when can you find out about the outdoor movie schedule?
Any tips on the best requests to ask when you are booked for SV? Is it better to ask for a balcony on a high floor without a parking lot view or hope for an upgrade? Thanks all!!!
The BWI/BWV Activity Calendar is hyperlinked in
POST 1 HERE.
You'll need to add any room location requests to your reservation, at least a week prior to arrival, by calling the WDTC/CRO.
The Garden/Epcot view on the 5th floor is one of the best SV requests. No need to request a balcony, I think there's only one room without one.
We are heading down to BWV Oct 19-25. So excited to be heading "home". I just spent an insane amount of time reading this thread. Not because I need tips or advice or anything practical but just because...sigh...I miss the Boardwalk and can not wait to get back!!
You'll be there soon! I'll add your dates to the Bulletin.
We were at the BWI club level from Sept.23-30 and did notice that all the garden suites were being painted so I know they are currently not being used. When we got off the elevators on the 4th floor and turned right towards the CL the hallway to the left had a big "sorry for the mess" type sign but I'm not sure if any of these rooms were being used or not. So sorry that you are being asked to switch resorts that would have really upset me. The trip from the GF to Epcot to me is really inconvenient since you have to walk through Epcot to get to the world showcase and the food and wine festival. Is there any chance that you can stay at the BWI?
Thanks for posting this.
Good morning from the Boardwalk.
They wouldn't move the bus for a picture.
Well you just snuck into BWI under the radar. Do the kids have a fall break now? We just started back a month ago here so no long break till November.
Did you ask the bus driver to move the bus? A bus driver once told me you could do that
Thanks for all the tips and info, after reading this thread we known BWV are where we are going to book!
My Fiance and I are planning our honeymoon for September 7th-16th 2015!
It's his first ever Disney experience and my first time since I was little!
sorry a bit off topic but maybe you guys can help!
We are a bit worried about coming during hurricane season does anyone have any tips? potentially will they shut down everything? should we plan to avoid water parks or will they be okay even in the rain?
We are coming from Scotland and I don't think we will ever be able to afford to come again so we want to make the most of our time in Disney!
thanks for all you help!
cheers!
Welcome to the thread and congratulations on your upcoming marriage and Disneymoon. I'll add your dates to the Bulletin.
We've been at WDW during tropical storms. The biggest problem could be travel delays/cancelations. Once you're on-property, Disney does a great job of cleaning-up quickly and keeping guests happy and entertained, even if the parks have to close for a little while. It's unlikely that will happen though. Don't be afraid to don your raincoats and head to the parks. It's actually fun in the rain because it's much less crowded and cooler. Most everything will be open and as long as you keep dry, you won't freeze in the AC.
Hope you're having great weather and a great time. Any word on what extended the room rehab? Was it just the Garden Cottages?
