Has anyone ever had any luck getting a Chef Mickey's breakfast? I'm going in September and got a Chef Mickey's Dinner reservation but we would prefer to do the breakfast buffet. I need some motivation to keep searching 100 times a day!

I had a 9.55am ADR and kept trying until I searched and got nothing, refreshed and an 8.30am popped up!

I have been stalking the Fireworks Dessert Party for our trip in early August for weeks (our TA wasn't able to secure a reservation for us even though we booked with her at 180 out). Yesterday at 43 days out we got our reservation! This was the one thing we were really looking forward to. There is hope, keep stalking. Two years ago right before we left I remember getting on and looking at the FDP and there being reservations open right before we left.

I had a Tusker House breakfast ADR for our September trip but was hoping for a better time. I've been stalking the site several times a day, every day. Just scored an 8:05 am (park opens at 9). Couldn't believe my luck!

Keep the faith! My TA booked our November trip (144 days before the trip) and felt awful telling me she could only get us Tusker House lunch for character meals. She suggested I keep looking and now, thanks to my checking about 8 times a day, we have Cinderella's Royal Table lunch, Akershus breakfast, Chef Mickey dinner, and Crystal Palace lunch. We are happy!

Keep trying -- things popped up all times of the day.

After stalking the site (checking first thing when I wake up, checking whenever I think about it during the day, and checking before I go to sleep), I was lucky to score a Wishes Dessert Party reservation. It's possible! Don't give up!

Started booking at 160ish. Kept BOG in my browser and refreshed like 15x/day. About 120 out, several BOG times opened. They were all gone within an hour or so, but, because I was looking, I found one. It took 40 days of persistence to pay off.

Also, check out the cancellation thread for the month you're going. Snagging a coordinated canceled ADR works. Several people noted in real time in that thread that there were BOG dates popping up when I got mine. I believe more than one person got theirs because of that DIS tip.

Very good advice, that's how I got my CRT! I also snagged an Ohana breakfast yesterday just by luck! Keep searching, reservations do come true ;)

This is EXACTLY what I need! 8am-ish at Tusker House!!! Best time, best breakfast! We are 139 days out, so I know there's time... I just need to keep stalking, keep stalking, keep stalking...

(I've been checking the cancellations thread too... such a nice thing, that is, that people understand what it's like and are willing to do that for another DISer!!)

too many stories to share! I've never once had to give up on a meal I wanted badly enough to monitor.

I started planning after 180 and as soon as I started planning I got most everything I wanted... Just wrong times on some.

I had CM dinner. Now I've scheduled two Chef Mickeys breakfast spots. Kept trying to schedule a breakfast and got one at a bad time. Kept trying and got the exact time I needed.

I also got an Akershurs but might cancel that
one. No princess lovers and we are kind of heavy on character meals

Only thing left I'm working on is BOG and wishes dessert and I check 30 times a day. We will be fine if we don't get them. I think I like the challenge.

What is best strategy... Stick with day you want or check week? Phone app or computer? And also, do you search for "dinner" or times?

Fun and encouraging thread. Thanks

I used both mobile app and computer. It was literally whatever I was near at the moment (mobile app out and about...computer while at work). I checked each day of the week we were going to be down there and just crossed my fingers that I would find something. As our vacation drew closer, I was starting to give up hope that I would find anything... but kept up the "stalking" for the challenge. Happy to say that I got both BOG and Wishes Dessert within 60 days of the vacation. For Wishes, you only have the one time to search, so that was easier. For BOG, I checked different times to see if there were any early or late reservations available.

Happy Hunting! ;)

I guess you could say that I've been successful. Like pp, we booked mid-May for an Oct. trip - within 180 days. I had little to no idea how to plan a WDW vacation (thank you DIS!) and once I learned that I needed to book my ADRs, I got right on it. I got everything I wanted within our normal meal times. Even after this lucky 'get', I still stalk the res system incase a nicer time becomes available. ;)

Not exactly persistence, but to show that reservations can be had with less than 180+10...

On our very first trip, I had planned everything out 3 months or so in advance (in 2005 when PS' were made @ 90 days), but I hadn't booked anything for dinner on arrival day. Well about a week before we left I decided we should have something special for Christmas dinner --- and got Chef Mickey's for Christmas Day ONLY 6 DAYS OUT!

Thank you! I was just searching Dinner on the computer vs. times. I noticed it quotes times from 5-10 but operating hours are not fully covered. I thought I saw an earlier time pop up before but it might have been my imagination. After doing it 4,000 times, I can get zoned out :crazy2:

Doing the happy dance! My partner and I have been planning a trip for May 2015, but about a month ago we decided that's just too far away, so we impulsively booked a trip for this August. We've still managed to get every ADR and FP+ we want *except* for the elusive wishes dessert party at the MK. Well, this morning I was checking our dates and a reservation time showed up! It's on a night with evening EMH, which we were hoping to dedicate to rides, but I couldn't be happier!

A million thanks to whomever cancelled a 9:15 ADR on 23 August!

So far this has been a tough year for reservations. We usually go in the fall sometime, but don't book until the summer. The only "hard to get" reservation I have been able to get was CRT. It wasn't for me, it was for my sister and her family, so I am still searching for our favorites!:surfweb:

This is a great thread - I've told a lot of people to just keep trying - things can pop up!

In full disclosure - some of these were gotten due to obsessive checking ;)

Anyway, when I was at my 180 day mark we had no intentions on staying on site, so I booked one reservation - Tusker House character breakfast b/c I knew that's what I wanted to do. Then long story short we got "free" dining and decided we would really love to do a lot of character meals as this is our first family trip and my son will be turning four. So we moved onsite and started planning more ADR's but were well within the 180 day. I think we made the move in early May, so at around 120-ish maybe.

I was pretty happy with what we had overall but I had some times I wasn't thrilled around. And in the last couple of weeks through watching the cancellation threads and checking online I have gotten:

Chef Mickey breakfast for our first full day
Ohana dinner at 5:15
Be Our Guest at 4:55 on a party night
1900 Park Fare moved up from an 8:00 to a 5:50
Hollywood and Vine lunch at 12:15 for the right number of people. ( I had accidentally booked for 2 instead of 3 during my obsessive checking - it had reset itself and I didn't notice)

Those are the ones I've gotten in the past 2 weeks or so. But I also was able to add between the 120 and now:

Boma, LTT, Mama Melrose, B&C, Via Napoli, Crystal Palace pre park open, and Cape May Café Breakfast. And T. Rex, but that's very easy to get if you call the restaurant directly. Plus of course the Tusker that I originally had.

I have moved my ADR's around what feels like hundreds of times to get exactly what I wanted but I have to say - it's perfect now!

I wanted to add I also had Akershus lunch but canceled it when the BOG became available! In a party full of boys that was the one voted to go. But I have seen Akershus, several CRT, several BOG and a dessert party become available in the past week on those cancellation threads.

We booked in June for a late July/early August trip, so about 45 days out. I've gotten everything I wanted - at the times I wanted - except for BOG (which I'm willing to wait in line for at lunch). It may help that our party just has 3 people. (It's actually just 2 of us but my mom may come, too, so I'm reserving for 3 people just in case. I'll call to cancel hers if she finds out for sure she can't come.) I am also booking a lot of 2:00ish lunches on purpose.

Today I'm exactly 30 days out and I picked up a Tusker House pre-park opening breakfast and Fantasmic Dinner Package.

I've changed lots of my ADRs, but I've gotten everything I wanted for the times that I've wanted (except for BOG).

I had 'Ohana but cancelled it. I also cancelled Coral Reef and Sci Fi (but those aren't as hard to get.)

We have:
50s' Prime Time
Liberty Tree Tavern
Plaza
Beaches and Cream
Fantasmic Dinner at Mama Melrose's
Tusker House breakfast
Sanaa dinner
Hoop Dee Doo

As for the persistence, I had the Tusker House for 9:10 but wanted pre-park opening. I checked for a couple of days. I always check on my app. Just a little while ago I used the computer to check and an 8:10 popped up. Now I don't trust the app! (I had checked just minutes before on the app and the earliest it showed was 9:05.)

We didn't want CRT, but I did see some availability for one of our MK days. I also have seen several California Grill, including some just before/during Wishes.

I may try for one of the Dessert Parties now and I'll continue to try for BOG. Hopefully I'll have another persistence story to share!

I got a 9:30 one last week or the week before. I was beyond excited, since it will be our first morning there (not counting arrival day).
