As promised, I am back and I bring pictures.

We did BBB at the MK Castle Location on Wednesday 2/19/14 at 8am. No Elsa or Anna costumes, and they would not give me a date when they thought they would have them. I also do not have any pictures of the tutu (they did not have one displayed) or t-shirt - except what is on the brochure. Now - the pics!!!

We had an 8:05am reservation - were done with both girls by 8:30 (they had the bun hairstyle), went across the courtyard and had pictures taken, and made it in plenty of time of a 9:00am CRT reservation.

Thank you for starting a new thread! :goodvibes

We did the full package on our last trip, they told my DD to pick out a crown & wand and I thought it was part of the package nope I had to pay extra.

I told her on our next visit we will bring our own dress and she can go for the make over. She is happy with that.

I wonder if you can still get the photo shoot afterwards if you don't buy the full package? I plan to get the memory maker, I wonder if they will do the shots and just put them on my MM?

Thank you Princessekrus for posting this! We are going in a month and love the pictures and found this very helpful.

Right now I have the coach package and I too am wondering if I can just use my memory maker to do the photo shoot afterwards. Hopefully someone here can shed some light on that.

We have done the BBB many times..
The dresses seem a little cheap looking.. Maybe it's just the pics..
But I think the ones from a few years ago look better. These look to similar to one you can get at the disney store..

Will be bringing our own costumes!

The face gems are also part of the Crown package and any package is welcome to have the portrait shots done and added to Memory Maker!

thank you so much for posting this! we are doing BBB at the castle at 8 am in September too, so this was great to read and see! ;)

Wow! I totally agree!!! The dresses we got about 3 years ago were so much nicer. I liked that they were noticeably of better quality/detail than the store dresses....not so much anymore I guess. :sad2:

The Jasmine outfit shown above is ridiculous compared to what DD got, which was two pieces and actual "coins" hanging off of the top piece...it was beautiful! I am glad my kids have no interest in BBB anymore. I'd have a hard time justifying the cost now.

does anyone know how much the gloves and purse set costs?
they are cute and do they come in different sizes ( gloves?)

I agree some of the dress dont look so great anymore. Tinker and Arielle mermaid for example.

though Tiara looks good, I always found her dress one of the nicest, too bad she is not as poplular.

I was at the Disney store at our mall and picked up a nice Merida dress for $39.00.

That is less then half the price they sell at BBB. There is no reason why you can't bring the dress with you :)

I will probably get a locker at MK to store the dress till our our BBB apt so I am not lugging a dress around the park with me.

I had the exact same thought. They look very thin flimsy and itchy and nothing like they have looked in the past when we have done BBB. Our most recent Princess dress from the BBB is Ariel's ballgown, and it looks nothing like the one in the photo. Ours is thick beautiful fabric I would say it is the prettiest one we have ever gotten at WDW, and we have a few from BBB and have also had several Disney Parks ones (same as the BBB ones, just didn't do BBB those trips). Mousemommy we had the Jasmine one you described when DD was younger and it was cute- I agree the photo above certainly doesn't look the quality of that that one! I think the non-parks Disney Store ones are good quality, and in the pics the parks dresses certainly don't look like they live up to the Disney Store versions, much less the more expensive past parks versions. All the Disney parks dresses we have gotten in the past where great quality and beautiful and I'm definitely not seeing that in the photos.

I don't recall noticing they were of such low quality when DD did BBB last October. DD picked the non-standard limited Minnie Halloween dress that time, so maybe I wasn't paying that close of attention. I will say though that I did notice the Minnie dress material snagged a bit during the trip which I had not have a BBB dress do in the past. Didn't seem quite as good a quality as her regular red Minnie Disney Store dress when she was little. It was really cute though.

OP how were they close up and in touching them? Has the quality really deteriorated that much from past versions as it appears to have in the photos?

The old Jasmine out is much better. Too bad my daughter grew. :rotfl2:

We get our dresses at the Disney Store. Although you can only get Ariel's ball gown on property.

I haven't done BBB since 2009, but I don't think these things have changed. You can bring in your own dress - we have never bought the dress there. I always had DD change before we went in, the changing rooms there I think are for the girls getting the full package. You can do the photoshoot afterwards no matter which package you purchase.

For those of you who asked regarding getting portraits done in the studio in Castle Couture, you don't have to go to BBB or have Memory Maker to utilize the space and photographers. You can take your child there dressed up and ask a photopass photographer to take pictures and they happily will for you. You can then view them there (or at home through the MDE site) and purchase prints or downloads that way. :thumbsup2

My daughter is 2 and I often take her to the park dressed up (we're APs so this is pretty often) and here are a couple of shots they took of her in costumes.

I will also add, as a seamstress and someone experienced with fabrics, the costumes in the stores lately are not of great quality. I noticed this especially with the latest batch of Elsa dresses. It sort of stunned me how cheap they look. :guilty: The abundance of glitter is also insane.

Was the Rapunzel hair part of the package you purchased, or did you buy it separate or get it elsewhere and bring it in. That is really neat.
Love the pictures. Your dd is adorable.

Your daughter is adorable!!! The dresses you made are beautiful and they look comfy too.

I think the Disney parks/store dresses always have had an abundance of glitter. I don't think that is new. The funny thing is that as much as you wash it, there is still plenty of glitter left on the dress! I have to admit that as DD ages, I kind of miss the trail of glitter over my entire house, self, car, etc. It always felt like we had been pixie dusted everywhere. I can recall people at work noticing that I had bits of glitter here and there. :rotfl: For those that hate it, I recently was helping with costumes for a kids theatre production and got a great tip. Spray the glitter on the dress with an aerosol hairspray and it will not come off all over everything. You don't want to get so close that the dress gets wet- just a light spray across the glitter areas from a distance. After you wash the dress, you will have to do it again though beause the hairspray will wash out.
