StormAlong Bay Taken late Sept/early October.

Most of the time, I was walking around SAB in early morning or late at night when the pool was shut.
We did come back to resort most afternoons to enjoy SAB. I had to take some time on our last afternoon to grab shots of SAB when it was opened!

Boardwalk and Bakery Taken late Sept/early October.

We were right by the Boardwalk.....a perfect place to go for a stroll at night.

You'll find the Boardwalk Bakery there.

I did say hello to Teena when I was there.

That's about it for my collection of shots around the Beach Club.

Happy travels all and may you always be welcomed home. :goodvibes

Hi everyone!!! I have been reading from page one and this thread is amazing!! I have read other threads and I have to say that this one seems to have the nicest people and the best information.

My new husband and I will be celebrating our 1st anniversary at the Beach Club, January 25-30.

We stayed at the Swan in 2012 for a conference he had to attend and I told him that I have always wanted to stay at the BC. I took him over to show him and he thought it was amazing!!! This will make my 22nd trip to Disney!!! Yay!! Only his 2nd, as we did not do the parks for the conference in 2012.

We had some big things happen last year, we got married in January, we had 3 children (1 mine and 2 his) graduate college, my oldest daughter was married and I started a new job. So we didn't get to go on vacation or take a honeymoon. So this trip is his gift to me for our anniversary. Such a sweet man. He knows how much I love this place.

So thank you everyone!!!!! This thread is awesome!!!

Thanks everyone. Glad you like the pictures.

Actually, I took most of the pictures early in the morning or during the middle of the day; when there were hardly anybody around. The timing worked out great!

Thanks for all the great pictures PrincessInOz. I love getting out and about in the resorts before the crowds roll out. It really is a special time.

I would like to encourage you to post these pictures to the Y&BC photo thread. This thread rolls kinda fast sometimes and would hate for these to get 'buried'. The Photo Thread is a little more permanent.

Thanks again for sharing!

Bounce back question. Can you only book for the resort you are staying at or could you say book GF?

You can book any available resort. We booked our BC trip (IN ONE WEEK!!!!!) last year from CR.

Great pics, PrincessInOz! Thanks! I just showed them to the kids, and they're excited.

Booked California Grill this morning for Mother's Day 2014! We're officially 180 days out! :hourglass

Good for you! I hear the new menu and renovations are wonderful. I went last November and loved it! :goodvibes

Just a quick note to thank everyone for all the great advice over the last several months. We arrive at YC tomorrow -- it will be our first stay at this resort, and we can't wait!! :yay:

Stop on over at the BC Lobby and say hi ... if you have time. I'll only be working tomorrow (Sunday) this week.

I'm back home :(

We had an amazing stay at the BC, met Teena, lovely lady, sorry I didn't get the chance to come back with the girls.

We loved the location, and our room, it was quite far to get to the main areas but the view of illuminations was wort it. If we do return, think I will ask for something a little closer to transportation, we worked out that the walk to the pool was longer than it was when we were staying In Building 7 of POFQ, which we don't mind, but a lot of people complain it's too far! I wouldn't complain if I were you!! But all in all we loved it and hope to return.

So I'll finish my trip report now! In bits!
Can't believe it's been a week since I last updated, we've been going at it hard with little time to rest.

I last left off with AK being our next adventure.

Sun 3 Nov, I woke at 7:10 and as I was pottering DH said to check the time was right as the clocks had gone back, oh lord I hope so, I checked my watch and it said 8:10, phew!!
So today was EMH at AK, we decided not to get there for 8 as we already had FP booked for what we wanted. We hopped in the car and in 12 mins we arrived just before 9 and had to que to get in as there were so many people at the guest entrance to start, we were in No hurry as the safari ride was 9-10. We got in line at 9:15 an a family in front could not get in with their bands, they had a 10-11 slot and the CM was trying to explain (they were foreign) that they were early and the clocks had gone back!
My plan for today was AK, leave about 1 and head over to AKL for a QS lunch just to see the resort then head back to the pool or whatever we fancied.
Well on the way in DD10 spotted the ranger station and as she missed out last time, wanted to do the activities around the park, we got 2 books and were told to stop at all the ranger stations and collect all the stickers, well this took up a lot of time, we enjoyed our day as we got to go on all the trails, see the tigers in action and just take in the scenery, we even went over the rafiki's station.
We stopped for lunch at FT BBQ instead of going to AKL, DH was not thrilled in seeing it, he said we would never stay there and preferred the WLwe visited last week.
I had the pulled pork sandwich and DH had the ribs, they fell of the bones, mine was ok, a little dry so had to add some BBQ sauce. The birds were annoying tho.
We did more touring and by now it was 3 pm and we had dinner at BOG at 6:45, so we headed out. Back at the hotel DD10really wanted to go in the pool, I said if she did this then we wouldn't have time for rides before dinner, she was fine with this and had half hour in the pool, with the clocks changing it was a shock to see the pool area with no sun on it and it was freezing, despite it had been a hot day.
A quick shower and ready to go, we caught the bus and got to BOG about 6:40!
We were seated right away in the rose room, it was very empty in there, not sure why. We all had the steak and all really enjoyed it, DD10 had hers plain with fries.
It was very cold when we left so went on the carousel, IASM and HM to keep warm, DD2 fell asleep on HM, we did BtM while wishes was on then headed out the park, I wish she had been awake as POtc, Jc and the carpets were all walk ons. Never mind.
Back home and we were knackered after such a long day we went straight to bed.

Monday to follow.

So I'm about to book the YC CL for sept 14 for our first adult only trip. Are there King CL rooms at the YC? Is it a request or a room category?

There are two standard view CL rooms with king beds, six lagoon view CL rooms with king beds and two garden view CL rooms with king beds at the YC. It is a request, NOT a category. Obviously you have a better chance of getting one if you book a lagoon view CL room.

Hi everyone. I have a question about the beach club. We always stay at the YC but have decided to try the BC for this next trip. I know you are not guaranteed a balcony so if that's important I should put that as my first request. The question is, we are a family of 5, so do I need to request a daybed? Or is that a given? My only requests would be a day bed and a balcony, with the daybed the most important. I'm not real picky on anything else and not having the balcony would not ruin the trip but it would be nice. So I guess I just need to know if I should request the daybed if we are a family of 5.

Thanks!!

Dont quote me exactly, But i do believe all rooms have a balcony, it is just if you want a full balcony or a standing balcony, an I am not too sure on the other part right now.

We traveled to the BC with our family of five many times and always had a bed for the fifth person. The standing balcony isn't really a balcony, it is more like a rail in front of a door. So I would request the full balcony before the day bed.

I can't remember whether I did online check in and am now wondering if I should ask for an accessible room. I ordered a wheelchair from apple strollers... What else? She has a boot bad crutches (and lots of pain meds!). I just ordered cast covers to be delivered to YC, and packed Saran wrap and duck tape just in case. Any advice?!

Thanks,
Tricia
