Free Dining Oct-Dec Is Here!!

So do you think it was never slated to go out as a DV offer or do you think it really got cancelled. The cancelled thing just doesn't sound logical to me. Especially that it was cxl because they were mad that it was posted on social media. That just sounds CRAZY!

If it was cancelled, I can't imagine it was because they were mad. It could be that they got enough bookings for that time frame that they couldn't justify a discount. That would actually make sense even though it sucks for some people.

Hate to post this here but the AAA boards don't seem to have many people on them. I was just wondering, since I have a AAA membership, if I don't book through AAA is there still a way to get the AAA member benefits for my Disney Trip?

Maybe All Star Movies is because everyone from Sports moved there? Just guessing of course.

All Star Movies is generally one of the 5% room discount resorts due to popularity. Add to that, as you said, the potential spillover from Sports, and it is within the realm of reason.

With the PIN codes still out there, there's certainly the possibility of certain resorts and/or room types being booked, but we have said that all along...always have backups.

LOL I have done it... it takes a little over $100 for one person if buying beers. ;)

It'll be a little bit of everything, especially margaritas in Mexico....yum!

Nope. Their benefits come with packages, and some of the benefits only come with packages with dining plans added. The only thing you can get from AAA when booking with Disney directly is the room discount with a room only reservation. Some offices will give you their parking pass if you buy tickets at their office, but that's hit or miss.

Chip and Co. has posted "breaking news" about the deal on their Facebook page and website. They are confirming Thursday, but they have a book by date of Sept. 15??? That is way too short. I told them the foreign markets show the date as Nov 15. They also have a crazy list of excluded resorts for the FD deal. :confused3

I just saw that too....WOW on the excluded resorts. Here is what they said: Excluded resorts - All Star Movies, Art of Animation, Port Orleans French Quarter and the Grand Floridan is among those not included. Quoting from Chip and Co.

also the end zone food court is down aug5-dec20 for some work so maybe everyone will be switching from there to the music and movies? That's the only reason i see movies being excluded:confused3

Ok my Dis Friends, Please recommend a second choice for me.
Our first is POFQ, really love it as my DH has alot of health and mobility issues and this resort is the perfect size for us.
He has lots of down time (heart function is only 10-15%) so my DS and I go to the parks alot more then he is able and with his mobility and vision issues he is able to navigate on his own to the food court to get himself something to eat if his sugars drop while we are gone.
So any suggestion on a different mod for a back up.:confused3

I know dining reservations are not canceled when a package is canceled. Is this true even when the resort reservation is used as a guarantee for a meal that requires prepayment (eg CRT, HDDR)?

I have a reservation with dining, so i didn't have to prepay. If I can book online Thursday can I just call and have the new reservation number attached to these reservations before I cancel my old reservation or do I not even need to worry about that?

Okay so is the general consensus that the Visa offer won't happen this time OR does anyone think possibly Visa offer on the 1st and gp on Monday?

I mentioned this yesterday morning when we all were calling and told no. This is what I think may happen. Time will tell.

To piggyback on what Smitch and some others have said.

The original leak was two weeks ago, and only stated August 1st. We all sorta jumped on the fact that Disney Visa members usually get in early and that's what's started all the panic.

Remember too that during this entire time, there have been PIN codes floating out there, and they continue to book. It is entirely possible and within reason that some of these resorts have booked their allotted availability with the PIN codes.

The original post stated the normal exclusions of LM rooms, Campsites, and three bedroom villas. But, since then, if rooms have booked up, then they've booked up. Remember that even on this thread, we've seen alot of people calling in and getting PINs and going ahead with booking...and if people on this thread have done it, then think of how many others have done it as well. It isn't beyond reason that Disney could send down a little memo stating simply "the following resorts are now excluded from the free dining promotion...etc..."

We thought we had them ranked incase we can't keep POFQ but now we are not sure.

We have them POFQ, CBR, ROS, CSR. Picking CBR over por because of the pool but not sure really love POFQ and por is just a short walk away?? Not sure tuff choice??

You can call dining and just have them link the reservations to the new package. I don't believe they would charge for prepay reservations if you cancel but better safe than sorry.

If you already have a package you can just call and have the deal applied versus booking and canceling.

Thanks. I am planning to call, but if I am hold for a long time and can book online while waiting, I plan to do that. Then I may call dining and have them switch the package number before canceling the original package.

I would go with preferred room wherever u choose. At least that way it will be close to food court for DH.

Crap ~ they're saying POFQ is excluded from fd. I know nothing is concrete until (hopefully) Thursday but it might be on to Plan B for us ~ POR.

I love POFQ, but it's just so popular that it often does fill up before they have to resort to incentives. (I think even the RO for POFQ is around 5%).

POFQ was my plan A, but my mom really likes the Mansions over at POR so it (at various view levels) are now my Plans A-D. E, F, G are RO's and keeping the rack rate ressie I made back in the spring before I even thought about discounts.

I'm hoping that since I now want POR instead of POFQ I may have a better chance.
