Sure signs of not planning

Ha ha. I asked a friend of mine who is going to Disney World for just two days which parks she was going to... She said Disney World... We are going to Disney world. I know... But which parks? Lol. Disney world... The one with the castle! I then explained there were multiple parks, water parks, DTD Disney etc... I wasn't making fun at her expense. Promise. Lol. I love helping other people plan their vacations! Sometimes we take for granted that others don't share our same Disney love!!!

When I worked for Hilton, I received a customer complaint that he couldn't see the castle from his hotel room do we were doing false advertisement because it is a downtown Disney resort.

We had reservations for the Wishes Dessert Party and when we were in line to get inside the Tomorrowland Terrace random people were entering the line and getting frustrated when the CMs told them they needed to have reservations to enter the party.

This is a great thread!

A former co-worker went on her honeymoon about a year or two before I did. She said Disney food was terrible and they had chicken fingers all week. I don't think I've gotten chicken fingers once in 4 trips.

DS does get chicken fingers (now nuggets) occasionally but we know where to get those. We make few ADR's but we also know to get to QS early or where to eat at the resorts where little wait is necessary.

I can't imagine trudging around MK at noon trying to find somewhere to eat!

Here is another sign of lack of planning. Overhearing someone walking into MK around noon while studying a map looking for where that "space ride" is.

I just got this 10 minutes ago. "I am standing by I.A.S.W. and I have a map in my hand it's not showing me where I want to go, the wait for Peter Pans flight is 45 minutes and I.A.S.W is 25 minutes long. What the heck am I suppose to do?. I WANT TO DO SOMETHING NOW". That is my BFF on the phone with ME who is in Wy.

Me:rotfl: Thats what ya get when you go with no plan.......

How did that conversation end?

In March 2011, during Spring Break, we were staying at POP and were just coming in for an afternoon break from the parks. We saw a man, woman and child in the check-in line. They had just driven several hours to get to Disney, child in tow, with NO RESERVATION AT ALL.

The CMs were apologizing because, of course, third and fourth week of March was totally booked. They were suggesting off-site locations for him to try...

Wow. Talk about not planning at all...I hope they found something, only because of the cute little kid. I would hate to think of the little guy being unable to go to Disney because his parents couldn't plan anything in advance.

I do feel bad when little kids at Disney have parents that are obviously terrible planners. All kiddos deserve to have a magical time at Disney :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes.

One that I witnessed on my last trip: a family on the Epcot monorail who had gotten on at Epcot, rode to the TTC (where I got on), and were then wondering why the monorail took them right back to Epcot. What about the other stops??? I had a hard time feeling bad for them, though, because they were Florida natives and were making fun of the "stupid tourists" who thought 85 degrees was unbearably hot. This stupid tourist got off at Epcot wondering how many rides they would take before they figured it out...

Heck I am just happy that tons of people don't plan!! Instead of making fun of them I want to give them a hug and says "thanks".

Think of how much more difficult it would be for us "planners" to navigate a Disney vacation if everyone planned and everyone came prepared?!

Rope Drop would be packed every morning because no one would sleep in, everyone would know the first hours of the morning are the best of the day for crowds.. so in turn RD would be crawling with people and lose its valuable appeal.

ADR's would be way more difficult to get because everyone would know that they need to make them 180 days in advance and everyone would be competing for the best ADR's from the jump... and even the "planners" would be settling for the less popular places because now everyone is in the know.

FP's would be much more difficult to get and be gone about an hour after opening many times of the year for pretty much every ride because every Disney patron would know to get to the park first thing and grab them.

Those are just a few examples of why the "planners" have the advantage but, only because so many people DO NOT plan... so God bless em! :cool1:

We don't do rope drop and we are planners/enthusiasts. We enjoy being in the park and don't mind a reasonable wait. We like leisurely breakfasts. Although we are certainly up early enough. It just doesn't appeal to us. I wouldn't assume everyone who isn't there early isn't planning.

Last week I was checking in at BOG for our ADR, and many people were in line asking how long the wait was. The CM was telling them november.
LOL...I consider myself a planner (or at least an aspiring planner) but was shocked when I couldn't get a reservation for 'Ohanas before 9pm even though I had only missed the 180 days in advance by a week or two. ADRs are no joke!

:) The poor man who couldn't understand why he was getting ushered out of the park at 7 on a party night....if I heard a CM say you can purchase a ticket at the gate while ushering I heard it a hundred times. It is clearly posted every where.

This was EXACTLY what I was thinking when I started reading this tread! I love the non-planners! This is also why I'm terrified for FP+, etc. More people will be planning and we won't be able to benefit at their expense!

We're just going to wake up and go to the park with EMH.:eek:

I mean we have 4 adults and only 1 kid - how bad can it be.

I was speechless. :rolleyes1

:) Or my SIL who asked the week before Easter last year...We have decided to go to Orlando for Easter with the FIVE kids...what should we do?

I instantly felt the twitching start in my left eye. Pulled out my APPS and said where do I begin....nope it is hopeless.
