Hey Danny25

Hellooooooo my friend and welcome to the Haunted Mansion, opssss, sorry, thank you for your preference over the others 24 Dannys :rotfl2:,now talking seriously, like my friend BLACK562 have answered to you, your dates are excluded from the fall offer sorry about that, but you must plan your vacation always around August 26 to catch that wave of discounts, your dates are in the middle of 2 offers and I afraid that you can´t get any discount to your dates. If you will pay rack rate you can rent points at a DVC and stay for the price of a value in a deluxe style resort, or check the prices at one of the downtown disney area resorts.
Like always don´t forget that you will be at DISNEYWORLD and with or without discounts you will have the most magical vacation on Earth, ok

;) You must know the dates then if you know the op's dates are excluded!! Want to share?? I would just love you forever if you ended all of our waiting misery!!

Also, sometimes they will extend dates if they feel its needed.

As a fellow Canadian traveler, who is also locked onto dates I have a quick question:

Is the end of September (Let's say the 28th, but of course this is only hypothetical....) still part of the "fall" discounts? I thought late Sept/Oct got changed into it's own category. Assuming the next discount is summer, am I two or three cycles out?

Thanks Pals.

Technically September is referred to as late summer while October and November is considered fall.

Just pondering this some more. The summer discounts end August 14, Danny25 is predicting the next discount to begin August 26 and Back562 is predicting a likely August 24th. WOW, that would mean 10 or 12 days with no discounts in what is typically a slow time for Disney.

Things really are changing away from typical discount patterns.

I started semi planning this vacation in 2011. For Canadians that year the offers were different than the US Ones. It was in August 2011 that free dining was released for August 2012. I know that was unusual for the Canadian travelers to see, but what a change from that to this year.

Off topic but HEY, I JUST BECAME A MOUSEKETEER. Not earning my ears any longer. Yay!

Let me make one correction. I'm looking at the 18-24, leaning in the direction of the later but hoping for the earlier. Hope that makes sense.

Ok, so last year free dining was released march 1 for visa holders...it started 8/25...may 1st a room only offer came out for 8/15-9/29 and I saved 30% off our BC stay...it overlapped dining but started a week earlier as our trip was the 19-26th....I just find it so hard to believe our week this summer will have no discount at all...hopefully some pixie dust will head my way.

Is this going to be room only or free dining like the bounceback? Room only doesn't save me enough to switch my reservation but free dining is usually good for any day in the stay regardless of when you arrive, so if it starts on the 20th and we arrive on the 18th it's good for the whole trip. If FD is offered and the AoA suites are eligible I'd gladly switch my room to a suite instead of an LM room. Room only doesn't save me much and likely wouldn't be covered for the majority of my stay anyways.

I'm going regardless but saving money is always welcome. We're locked into our dates due to school starting for DD1 in late August and some cheap airfare so not much flexibility unfortunately. We can't wait.

I want to caution everyone to never ever make any changes in plans until Disney themselves makes something official. Until they do, they can always pull back a promo or change dates at the last minute and nobody knows what's in their mind but them.

I'd hate to see someone get backed into a corner based upon information received here, no matter how reliable it may be. Even the most reliable information is subject to change, stranger things have happened.

Happy thoughts!!!

We'll be there Aug 18-22nd and already have booked flights. From what I've been reading on here I was fearing that we'd be left out, but fingers still crossed for some pixie dust!

Free Dining is based on your check-in date; so, what you wrote here is incorrect. You would have to do a split stay checking in on 8/18 and then checking in again on 8/20 to get FD. Your check-in date must fall in the window.

You are correct, you must check in on a day free dining is offered. As long as your check in date falls in that window, you're fine, but you can't check in before it starts.

Thanks so much for all you have to offer black562 and Danny25! Thanks also for the caution you offer. I've seen people take these 'anticipated offers' as truth and been sorry lately. The warning to be cautious is greatly appreciated!

One other thing to be aware of with a split stay is that in order to qualify for a FD offer the entire package (including park passes) must be purchased. If you want to go to the parks for the first day or two of a stay, before a FD offer you'll need to purchase passes for that.

Then, when the FD offer becomes effective you'll need to purchase new passes thus paying the premium price of Days 1, 2 and 3 again.

I've had this happen in the past so chose the first 2 days of my stay to go without park passes and used the time to visit Downtown Disney, water park, etc. and then to begin going to the parks the second part of our split stay.

Just something to keep in mind for those who may be affected by a split stay if a FD offer comes out.

(If the information above is unclear or incorrect, please let me know. It's just how I understand it to be.)

So when the discount happens can I look to save approx. over a $1,000? We have a package booked at Yacht Club garden view for 8 nights? Whatever it is I will be happy :cool1::banana::cool1:

Happy happy thoughts!!!!

I will be on the phone at 6:59 a.m. on Tuesday if that is when it is available. Going to go in work late so I can get this done :goodvibes When I made my dining reservations I was on the phone at 7:00 am and got everyone that I wanted even BOG ressie :) Hope it all works out, thanks for the answer!

I must've had it backwards then. Is it that if the promo ends on the 20th and you are booked from the 20th to the 27th that you could get free dining through the whole trip?

Also, are free dining promos available to AP holders?

Now you have it right. And you must buy at least a two day ticket to qualify. So sure you can get it with an AP, you'll just have an added expense.

Oh you'll be fine. I waited three days and still got what I wanted.

And all my dining is already booked as well. No problems there either.
