I've been sending in my entry every day by cell, and sending in my husband's by on-line (with his permission, of course!).

I am leaving with two friends of mine on Saturday to go to WDW, so my husband will be on his own for his entry. Would it be too obnoxious for me to leave a GIANT sign over the TV, on the refrigerator, inside the diaper box and over the sinks in all the bathrooms reminding him to enter? :) I've already got my daughter set to remind him. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm just saying, Disney.......I will be taking part in my very first running race this weekend, and not only is it my first, it is a HALF Marathon! :scared1::scared1::scared1: I think it would be AWESOME if I were to get the call that I won this contest on Sunday right as I was running/crawling across the finish line. :)

Ahhh well. I can dream! At least I will get to be with Mickey for a few days this weekend!

Just wanted to send a little pixie dust for the race and your entries. pixiedust:

I can't imagine running a half marathon. :worship:

Does adding the additional 1 day admission ticket only apply to the Disneyland package? My WDW contact told me that we could upgrade our tickets. :confused3

I have no idea - we hadn't really thought about extending days anyway - we planned on the first day no parks and we'd just visit DTD and no parks on SUnday because I have heard weekends are the most crowded - DH has fam in Cali so on sunday we'd probably have them come meet us at DTD for a few hours. THen we'd do parks m-f and leave on sat....

OR we'd do parks sun, tu, w, th ,f and go to the Halloween party on MOnday meaning we'd swim and hang out till that night.

or who knows because if we don't go our first two choices (in sept & oct) then our next choice is in dec...lol

and the blackout dates are july 2-5, nov 18-25, & dec 18- jan 2

Thanks for the blackout dates! This is really helpful! :yay:

That is so awesome! My good friend Karen is running in the race this weekend too! She leaves tomorrow and is so excited! We just met over lunch to discuss all things Disney! Have a great time!!! :yay:

I just got my letter in the mail a little while ago. Have you gotten your mail yet today?

It doesn't mention anything about hotel choices, so I'm going to e-mail her about it. It does list three blackout dates and asks you to put down 4 travel date choices. Your stay must include a Saturday night. It also mentions additional people and asks what time of day you want to travel to and from California. They have to receive the info at least 45 days before you want to travel. Extending your stay is kind of vague, so I'm e-mailing her about that as well.

If you want me to list the blackout dates, just let me know and I can post them or message them to you. :)
Hi Sue,

Can you post the blackout dates for DL as that is where we are going and I have not received my letter yet. Also, what did you find out about the hotel choices?

Thanks!

On an off topic note can anyone tell me how many posts it takes to be moved up from earning my ears?

I've been at school for the last 4 hours, so I apologize if you've already . gotten the answer to this one... 75. Next status change after that is at 500.

I just checked our mailbox and our letter came! :yay:

The Saturday thing threw me, for no other reason except our preference to visit the park during the week - not as crowded :). We'll happily make it work though. The blackout dates won't be an issue for us, but I'm still holding out a little bit of hope that we might have some say in our hotel choices. If the answer is no, again we'll make it work. We are going with the Downtown Disney shopping spree...I wonder what stores it will be good at?

This whole thing is like a fun puzzle or riddle! The more information you get, the more questions you have :).

Good luck with the half marathon. I have a goal of completely a half marathon someday. Hopefully that will come true, if/when we figure out what is wrong with my foot.

Have there only been two people that picked DL that have received paperwork so far? My husband's name was one of the first 5 drawn and we still haven't heard anything since letting them know what park we wanted (DL). I'm wondering if we should start to be concerned or not. :confused3
(Patience has never been one of my strongest traits....)

I'm hoping we get a hotel choice (however from a pp, it sounds like we don't?), but I will be thrilled with whatever we get. We've only ever stayed at economy hotels when we've gone, so this will be something new and exciting for us!

Check your snail mail today and tomorrow, and if you haven't gotten your letter by then, let me know and I'll PM the phone number to you. It goes to VM and they do call back, however I wasn't home when they called me today, so now I am waiting on another return call.

ETA: Nevermind. I just caught up with all my reading and see that you got your letter today. Yay!!

I am not a OMDD winner but....I have been following this thread since the beginning. I do believe that one of the winners said, that if you choose the shopping spree, you will recieve a $500 gift card. Which will be able to be used anywhere Disney gift cards are accepted! :cool1:

Congrats on getting your letter. :cool1: How long did it take to receive your letter after sending back your choice of parks?

I e-mailed them my park choice on February 1 and got the letter today (the 21st), so 20 days. I expect that everyone will be hearing sooner though. They seemed to wait to contact most of us at the same time.

Thanks for your details! It still gives those of use who haven't wont YET ( :goodvibes) that theres still that possibility that we could just come home from work and find that FedEx envelope in our mailbox!! Congrats, and happy planning!!
I'm gonna hope that this means this weeks drawing is yet to come! Come on lucky Wednesdays!!!!

Yay! I'm glad you got your letter. We were planning on flying there on Sunday so we'd be in the parks during the week when it's less busy, but I guess we'll have to fly a day earlier. No big deal. :)

I wonder if they'd let you check out on a blackout date? :confused3 Guess I'll have to ask when I get my letter.

Okay, I heard back from the lady at Disneyland. Here are the things I found out.

-the DTD shopping spree will be a Disney gift card and it can be used at World of Disney, Marceline’s Confectionery and Disney Pin Traders. She didn't say that it could be used anywhere on Disney property, but I'm sure it can.

-I asked about which airport we would fly out of and it's the nearest international airport

-I also asked if we'd have a choice of hotel and she said that they are not offered many rooms per night for promotional prize packages. The hotel will be based on availability of the nights we request. She said that most often they are able to confirm the Disneyland Hotel. Also, it will be one of the 3 Disneyland hotels not the Good Neighbor Hotels.

-extending our flights will be no problem, we'll just need to give them the dates that we want to fly

-if we need to extend our hotel reservations, they can offer us a 20% discount for guests that have won a prize package.

I didn't ask about extra park tickets because we're not planning on staying at DL longer. I hope that helps some of you who are still waiting to plan your Disneyland trips. :)
