The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Tues Oct 12th

I awake here.

IMG_1264.jpg

This is my destination.

IMG_1268.jpg

The required shot of the castle, with just a few people in it.

IMG_1272.jpg

Looking back at the crowd coming this way.

IMG_1276.jpg

This area is so different now.

IMG_1305.jpg

I see the steps with a short line.

IMG_1324.jpg

Please excuse my wide end as I talk with the steps. Lady Tremaine and I share some “mothering” tips.

IMG_1327.jpg

IMG_1329.jpg

Having my Dumbo mission accomplished, I head out. It is only ..

IMG_1339.jpg

I will see this again very soon!

IMG_1343.jpg

It is here I finally realize that there are buses to DHS and AK from the TTC. They actually announce on the monorail but after “ Please stand clear of the doors” in English and Spanish I admit I stop listening.

A bit of the scenery at the TTC- maybe for a future scavenger hunt?

IMG_1354.jpg

My chariot from here.

IMG_1356.jpg

This may be the new way for me to get to DHS and AK from the monorail resorts. The buses from those resorts are painfully slow and make multiple stops. Tucking this in my cap for NYE escape from the Poly to DHS.

Soon I arrive here.

IMG_1362.jpg

I see this guy walking in with that lanyard. I had to alter the picture in order to post it but you get the idea. I hope someone at the park told him to take it off.

IMG_1363.jpg

On my way to Africa I see a kidnapping.

IMG_1371.jpg

Hmmmm something interesting. So I hop on the train.

IMG_1382.jpg

To check out what is going on.

IMG_1384.jpg

Some Prep.

IMG_1387.jpg

While I wait Baldy ( that is what his nametag says) is standing by the poop exhibit. A teenage boy walks up and touches the poop while asking Baldy what’s this. He replies dryly- “Poop”. The teenage boy backs away slowly.

IMG_1391.jpg

Back to our kangaroo.

IMG_1395.jpg

Then I see this Grandma “walking” the wild grandchild.

IMG_1397.jpg

He was giving her a run for her money. I may have seen him actually bounce off the walls.

IMG_1398.jpg

Keeping our friend warm while the procedure is going on.

IMG_1403.jpg

Another friend hanging around

IMG_1405.jpg

They are moving the Kangaroo from the back X ray room to the front.

IMG_1406.jpg

The staff takes questions.

IMG_1411.jpg

My, what big feet you have.

IMG_1412.jpg

The staff there to comfort the animal. They take such care of those guys.

IMG_1415.jpg

IMG_1416.jpg

The question was posed about what sort of anesthesia is used. A cocktail of Ketamine, Dazzle and another drug is given and then another cocktail to reverse it is given afterwards. The Roo will sleep it off and be ready to go in a couple of hours.

IMG_1419.jpg

They move the kangaroo back to the crate to come to.

IMG_1420.jpg

IMG_1422.jpg

IMG_1425.jpg

IMG_1426.jpg

I am sure the kangaroo appreciates all the picture of him/her not looking or feeling its best.

A quick shot of monkey butt.

IMG_1431.jpg

With the procedure over, I head back to Africa to use the FP I collected for KS.

IMG_1438.jpg

Since I already took one butt picture I promise no safari butts today.

IMG_1475.jpg

IMG_1483.jpg

IMG_1490.jpg

IMG_1491.jpg

Ok Mingo butts.

IMG_1497.jpg

IMG_1506.jpg

Through the gift shop.

Okay, Pat. I will have to tell you....I am exhausted! You are one tough lady. I can't believe how much you do with so little sleep!

How cool that you left Disney and got to come back before going home!

I could kick myself. My annual conference last year was in San Antonio. We were at Disney the same week so I didn't go. It looks beautiful. Wish I had went and rebooked Disney! :confused3

Wow, you are updating a lot! You act like someone who is about to leave for Disney! Oh wait, you are! :yay::yay::yay:If I don't get back before then, I hope you have a great time! Sure hope you make it the MK on the 40th! Wish I was there.

My day is feeling strangely incomplete without more butt pictures.

COOL kanga procedure pix! I LOVE that one of his face under anesthesia!

:thumbsup2

let me get this straight you were in disney, left to go to a conference, then went straight back to disney?

:thumbsup2

way to stay out late and tour the parks well done well done.
:thumbsup2

Wow Pat, you've been a posting fiend the last few days. And I've been traveling, then busy, then away, etc. Which adds up to being behind.

Well, glad you got to meet several DISers, particularly Camille in TX. And you didn't fall into the clutches of an axe murderer. (I mean Joel, not Camille. ;) )

I will be eating lunch in Disney World Tomorrow.:cool1:

I have energy beyond energy when I am in Disney. Man I hit wall though- right as I got on ME going home. Good timing.

San Antonio was lovely. I had a little time to explore but not the confidence to go too far.

Hang on ! Several more updates are ready to go.

Take your time catching up. I am leaving on a jet plane ...... in the morning so you will time to catch up at your leisure.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: about the axe murderer comment and qualifing it about Joel and not Camille. Camille and I laughed about her pulling up the hotel and me just jumping in her car and saying hello after. :lmao: I was concerned they wouldn't let her stay in the pick up drive very long and she was worried I would think she was an axe murderer.

they may be facing that way more . :confused3

What a sweet smile. :lovestruc

IMG_1615.jpg

Just for a change this is our friend who sometimes does the evening EMH opening show.

IMG_1617.jpg

Not the best picture but if you look in the background you will see a child in a wheelchair. “My” monkey later gets off his perch and goes over to the family to interact with them. So Sweet.

IMG_1620.jpg

Almost

IMG_1628.jpg

Hey can I help it if the only clear pictures are of “my monkey”
The distinctive yellow line we must stand behind.

Lunch

Lamb chop

IMG_1688.jpg

Had this last year- YUCK

IMG_1691.jpg

Bread pudding

IMG_1696.jpg

Not as good as last years ( 2009)
I wander a bit, I eat a bit more. I try this

IMG_1708.jpg

A Singapore sling. HOLY COW Strong. Too strong. But I refuse to waste. So I go to the Kiosk by the African outpost and get a cup of ice. To dilute it.

I sip and stroll. I see Donald in his new digs.

IMG_1715.jpg

I cut by the Odyssey restaurant and find myself walk by this guy.

IMG_1720.jpg

Not your typical young adult but he made me cringe.

Him on the phone: “ I just got f-ing buzz on the it… yeah the champagne.””Yeah I don’t know where I am …. By Fast track I guess.” Then he stands there waving , I guess hoping his buddies will find him. Then he takes off towards TT. :sad2:

I walk out and approach the bus stop.

EPCOT take a lot out of you.

IMG_1725.jpg

I get back to POP and gather new batteries and head out to

IMG_1738.jpg

I am heading to my first ever MNSSHP. I am not in costume but have my festive Halloween shirt on.

Love the costumes

IMG_1739.jpg

IMG_1742.jpg

IMG_1743.jpg

I stood in line for what seemed like an eternity but I got this.

IMG_1750.jpg

Seeing these guys were more complex. The line was long but then Alice went away to feed the rabbit I guess. So me and a few others waited but then went to the end of line to wait some more.

Finally

IMG_1756.jpg

This wonderful CM kept us all entertained while we waited.

IMG_1755.jpg

IMG_1763.jpg

OOOhhh spooky

IMG_1764.jpg

Now here is my snit of the trip ( every trip has one) I am happy to say this one was pretty short and not very exciting.

I was waiting for Donald and Daisy by the Toon town entrance. The line was long, my patients were getting short. Unlike the other lines, this one DID NOT MOVE. Not sure what was going on but we had at least 2 change outs of characters.

Finally it was approaching Fireworks time and I guess I made a rather loud declaration that I would not be missing fireworks for this line. The people around me who I was talking to kinds looked at me and since I was alone it was kinda odd but I said it. I am happy to report that I made it.

IMG_1765.jpg

That was taken at 9:17. I have 10 minutes to get to the hub to see the fireworks from in the park.

IMG_1767.jpg

I even had time to get a Casey’s hotdog to wolf down. Maybe I was just hungry but I was starting to feel rushed.

I ran to the middle of the street behind another guy doing the same thing.

The wall was coming but I was able to avoid it ... for a while.

IMG_2003.jpg

My last shot of the front.

IMG_2004.jpg

I make my way back to POP and get off the bus and see this family. I had the most trouble finding my way back to this room for some reason. The mom in this family is saying” Don’t be harsh, I am turned around” They walk towards the 80’s, while walk towards building 10 and then through to get to my building, building 6. I see them again and I ask them if they need help. They needed Building 5. I point them in the right direction but hope I don’t still see them in the morning wandering around.

I actually have trouble sleeping- must be because I turned in early
Can you say overtired? This is where I finally hit that wall.

Wed Oct 13

The final day of this last trip. Nothing is planned for the foreseeable future and I can say I am ready to go home.

I need to pack up. I need to cram everything so I can check 1 underweight bag and carry on the rest.

IMG_2017.jpg

First I need to make a stop. I have all sorts of snacks that I either brought or got in San Antonio that I have not eaten.

I get on a bus with Oscar. Hands down the best bus experience ever. It is only me and another family from NY.

He welcomes us and tells us to sit back for our 45 min trip to DTD. He is kidding!!!

Then some of the standard audio comes on and he tells it to “Shut Up”

Then he starts this. All the following are announcements the bus can make.

“ Everyone be on their Royal Behavior, we are travelling with Disney Princess.”

“ Everyone let’s wish a Special passenger a Happy Birthday”

“ Let’s wish a happy couple a Happy Anniversary” Oscar adds “ How many years of torture?”

“ typhoon Lagoon is currently closed due to inclement weather”

“ Ladies and gentlemen this is a family environment, Please use appropriate language

“ L & G We have a first time visitor on the bus”

As we pull in to Typhoon Lagoon “ Typhoon lagoon has reached operational capacity” the parking lot is empty.

Oscar adds” Hey Not my problem, I don’t care”. :lmao:

We add a family with a crying baby. Oscar says “ I’m Sorry no crying on the bus. You don’t like my driving?”

More bus announcements

“ L& G Boys and girls Keep to the code we are travelling with a Disney Pirate Today AARrrrhhh”

“ For you convenience, Lost items can be picked up at te TTC near the kennel area.”

A few others included

No swinging on the handrails

No standing on the seats.

Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times.

Everyone on the bus was laughing every time he pushed another button for some other random announcement.

I had no idea the bus could address all these situations. I kind of wish they would be used more. :confused3

I arrived at DTD changed over and arrived here shortly.

I dropped off my package and made my way to

I know we had a little text exchange trying to find the package when MeMom and crew went to visit but I hope it was found and enjoyed. :)

Another Bo Lover.

Picked up one of these beauties.

One final snack.

I wait for the Magical Depress.

IMG_2102.jpg

I am able to get myself and all my gear onto the airplane with minimal problems. I am dragging big time and just ready to be at home.

I land and I get to my car a little after 9pm. A parting shot of the airport long term parking.

Why does it remind me of EPCOT?

IMG_2104.jpg

Some final thoughts and an interesting year.

Wow Pat, you've been a posting fiend the last few days. And I've been traveling, then busy, then away, etc. Which adds up to being behind.

Well, glad you got to meet several DISers, particularly Camille in TX. And you didn't fall into the clutches of an axe murderer. (I mean Joel, not Camille. ;) )

It was the wrong time of the....ooooh never mind. :rotfl: No seriously, meeting Pat was actually my first Dis meet, I was a Dismeet virgin before that. (can you say that on the DIS? :rotfl:) I was so glad to have met her, I felt horrible to just pick her up on the fly like I did, but I knew all would be good as she came bouncing out of the hotel almost like Tigger with a huge grin on her face, hops in the van, we did a sideways hug and took off! It was instant Dis sisterhood in it's finest. :lovestruc Then I took her off to my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant and proceeded to get a little sloshed! :scared: In Austin they skimp on the tequila, I forgot where I was! (only lived there for five years and still forgot how well they like their booze in San Anton) I'm a total light weight so I was just happy Pat was okay with us hanging for a long while to let the booze wear off! She hooked me up for a later date though, that beautiful bottle of wine she was given by the hotel for changing all around....yeah she gave it to me. :lovestruc I still don't think I've drank it, not sure why that is. <scratching head>

How about these?
IMG_1480.jpg

Or this?
IMG_1512.jpg

Is your day complete now?!?!?!? :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Anything for our Liesa.

I thought it was hilarious that you realized it was me because of the pink, princess, Minnie-head, antenna ball on my van! :rotfl: As stated above, it alllll worked out perfectly. We had the best time, and for the record folks....she's just as energetic in person, as her TR's are!! This woman is full of life, giving, energy!! She wore me out just talking about her trip so far, and she still had her second leg of her trip to come! :faint:
I hope you have the most magical time on your trip, you sooooo deserve this time away. I pray for a better work year when you come back, I pray safety on your travels and I pray for your new year at work to be a fruitful, peace filled, satisfying year. pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

That once was a beautiful thing for tired legs.

I wait for the Magical Depress.

IMG_2102.jpg

What a sad picture. :sad1:
But you said you were ready to go home this time, right? You had been gone a while and had really been on the go. And without your family - that makes all the difference! I guess that would make it less sad to leave. I've never stayed long enough yet that I was ready to go home. I know the number is at least more than 11 days for me. Maybe I'll go for a full two weeks sometime and see if 14 is the number.

Truthfully, I will probably never know. :upsidedow

I so wish I had caught up on your TR last night because I am now in the no picture zone of work. But the bus drive story is pretty darn funny. I love fun bus drivers. Makes the trip a ride all its own!

Have a wonderful F&W trip - take lots of pictures and buy lots of stuff - as SOON as you see it! No procrastination this trip!
