Nice spot for a DIS meet. Beautiful set up at the YC. I saw that area set up all week when I was there in May.

It was fun and I so would NOT do that anywhere but Disney. When you are with newbies, the teacher in me comes out. I want to show and explain everything. When I am with veterans, I like to share and explore what makes "Disney" for them.

He even had a phone app for Disney - not sure if it was lines or another one so I was "suspicious" of his "story" but it was fun.

I let Chi-Chi pick the spot and that is one of her favorites. It is one of mine too. We walked all the way around and it seemed like such a short walk when taken witha friend.

I was almost crying, it was so funny to watch. They were so drunk but they knew it. Each trying to lead the other but being impaired enough not to be able to.

This is where I encounter Ron. Ron is the CM in Belgium. I get some waffles and an Iced Coffee which has some Liqueur in it. He ID’s me!!! Now I am well over 21, and was caught off guard. I asked him to repeat himself. He starts to go into the standard explanation of how he has to proof anyone looking under 30 … Really?!?!? I am laughing hysterically at this point and tell him he just made my day!!! He comments that he needs to ask for ID more often if he gets that reaction.

That is the second time I have done this.
When I am putting the pictures in I can't always see details so I rely on my notes, which said Ron!!! Of course those notes were after a day of touring and a few .


At first I am sure he did not want me to know his name but we had a good laugh over it.

I purposely did not tell him where I was going. Heck In fact I did not know I was going there until the last minute myself. I really was going back to the room to pack.

Then PoC and I found a treasure.

A hidden bathroom around back. Sure there is a sign but it has always been the norm to head to the bathrooms that connect with frontierland.

There is some seating back here too.

This is really dark but is to the right of PoC down the hallway here.

Actually you can walk further and I did and found out there is walkway for CMs back there. How did I find that out? Well a CM came out, scared me, and told me. I wasn’t backstage but I was startled because no one was around and it was dark.

From Adventureland to Frontierland to Liberty Square and Fantasyland. Working my way to Tomorrowland- here was actually a line for the peoplemover.

As we go through Space Mountain- the lights are on.

Back over to see if SM is up and running.

While standing in line, the ride shuts down again. I head over here.

It is me and one couple in the theater.

I have done everything I could.

I slowly make my way out of the park.
I find myself behind these two.

This was the couple in CoP.
I am back at the room by 2 am. I finish packing and take the long dark walk to the lobby to catch ME.

I did go over to Luggage services and I left a bag for my return on Sat Oct 10. I wait around and beside a couple of CM’s in the lobby I am all alone. I wait and wait and see a cab

The last HM for a while.

I ask at the desk if that cab might be mine since there is no bus. They assure me it is not mine. I wait some more and finally a bus arrives.
This is my first time flying Southwest. I did the online check in and checked my bag and made it down to the gate.


As I enter the concourse I see a Starbucks. I need a little something in my stomach and something to leep we awake for a bit. I order a bagel but they can’t toast it and I have to cut it with a plastic knife. Well that doesn’t work real well. I walk a bit further and see a McDonalds I throw out the bagel and get an egg mcmuffin

I had the long wait before the flight left, and as I sat there I was getting tired. Looking around at the other weary travelers, so are they. WE are called for boarding and I pick an aisle seat and the last thing I remember is taxing for take off. I am heading to Houston for a plane change, so about an hour into the flight I wake up. The attendant is right there asking me if I am OK and do I need anything. WOW that is customer service. Most of the plane is still asleep but people are starting to stir.

We land and I navigate the Houston airport to catch the next flight. I reach my final destination and I am on a shuttle by 10 am.


A fun time in San Antonio but not without some musical rooms, a treat and a Dismeet.

San Antonio
I arrive and check in. I am at the Hyatt Regency in San Antonio. I am given.

The room is ready and I head up and get a little settled. I take a little nap since I need to report to the convention center at 1.

I walk down to the desk and ask directions to the convention center. It is just down the street so I walk it.

All alone, broad daylight in a strange city.

Suddenly I hear yelling. LOUD yelling.
I am still a bit woozy from the lack of sleep but I think he is saying “Chicken Fried Steak $5.00” What?!?!?!
I thought to myself in my sleep deprived state “ Dorothy, you are not in Kansas anymore.”

OOOhhhh the lunch special.

Here is the big scary cowboy who was yelling.

I arrive at the convention center and realizing we usually share it with at least one other group I figured this too would some laughs at the opening general session.

We are with the gas people.

As I find the room I need to be I am asked if I was all checked in yet. I said yes but then I am informed they are looking for people to move to the Grand Hyatt right next door to the convention center and will comp a room for the night if we move. Seems like they overbooked. Since I am footing the bill myself I jump all over that deal.

I walk back to the room, repack and go down to get the cab voucher and cab the hotel will provide.

In 2 minutes I am at the Grand Hyatt and checked into room

I walk back to the convention center and get to work. I grab a quick dinner from Chili’s and walk back to the room. I am asleep by 8:30 pm.

Wed Oct 6th.

Since I passed out early I was up early. I got ready and packed everything back up to move back to the Hyatt Regency. I took an early morning walk on the Riverwalk.

Around 11 I headed back to physically move and get this view.

I grab dinner at the little Mexican place on the riverwalk.

The hotel left a surprise for me.

Along with a letter apologizing for the inconvenience for moving me.

Thurs Oct 7th

A little reminder of Disney

The other interesting thing at the convention center was the toilets. Yes I know I am back in the bathroom again.
They had two ways to flush – up for less water needed or #1 as the sticker puts it and down for #2.

Fri Oct 8th

A look from above at the trade show floor. A place full of tubes, slides and other water fun accessories.

On this day the Riverwalk was all set up with vendors. Come walk back to the hotel with me.

What continued to floor me was the lack of railing by the river. Now this was a pretty calm area but up ahead there are restaurants and bars.

BARS.

How many drunk people go swimming on the weekends? From what I heard quite a few and when they drain the Riverwalk to clean it the stuff they pull out is interesting too.

Not wide at all I tell you.

Now Fri nights festivities included dinner at SeaWorld.

The folks at Sea World had a treat for us. After the Waterpark portion closed for the season they trained the sealions in the wave pool.

Once we had a lovely dinner, we were let loose to run around the park.

The guys here were real, they heckled the crowd.

Off to see Shamu

We then ran to the coaster, Steel Eel. Now I like coaters but also like to know what is going on. It was dark so I couldn’t really see the track.
Holy Cow- It really just went up and down but high and several times. I screamed the whole way, but in a good way.
They closed the rides early and we got the last ride. That would be the only coaster we got on that night.
This creature was at the exit to a maze. He crept up and scared many, many people.

It was time to go back to the hotel.
The next day I got kidnapped.

Sat Oct 8th
The last half day of educational session is done, the trade show is all packed up and done.
I have the afternoon free. Upon leaving the conference I am given a speakers basket full of goodies.

Camille ( Millie 12591) calls me. We were not sure if we were going to be able to meet up but she hopped in the car and is on her way down.
She pulls into the Hyatt drop off circle and I jump in her car. She is taking me to Chuy’s her favorite place.

We had a great time and I thank Camille for kidnapping me. Dinner was great the company even better.
When I got back I realized I never got to visit the pool. This was a rooftop pool. It was worth a look.

It was small and nice and windy up there. I didn’t swim but I thought it was at least worth the look.

We had one more event and it was the Goodbye party. WWA arranged for us to go to Schitterbahn in the morning.

Once again the place was open just for us. I made sure to thank the staff for coming in special for us.

A very dark arch but this time I was not in a Disney bus.

I participated in a fridge swap and the swapper ( WDWMAW) knew I was coming in late. They were at DHS watching Fantasmic and were slowly making their way out and back to POP.

While I checked in I encountered Judy. I had an assigned room in the 90’s but I sweetly asked If could have a room in the 70’s since that is the only decade I have not stayed in. Judy made it happen.

WDWMAW and her hubby brought the fridge over.

They left some goodies along with the fridge. Now it is about 10:45pm. Do I stay in ? NO WAY. I head out, MK has EMH.

I think this is the same CM – Richard – I can’t see the name tag this time - that was cracking me up on the last night before I left.

I made my way down the street, JC, then PoC and then I hit BTMRR. I get to Liberty square and…

The walls around the cemetery were up. They were real creative when making sure you could not see through.

For a second time

On my way down Main Street I ducked into the bakery to buy a treat for the morning. I got a cinnamon roll and had to cut it in half to get it into 2 to-go containers. I think only 1 made it back to the room. You just can’t resist a warm cinnamon roll.

I head back – the time is…

Despite getting in at 2:30 am my notes say my bags were not in my room. I may have called for them.

Mon Oct 11
Running on 4 hours sleep, I end up here.

Where was my POP room?

It took me 20 minutes to get my FP apparently and the stand by line was showing this.

When in reality I waited about 30 minutes.

It was lunchtime so I made my way to get something to eat.

I ate that at La Hacienda. A couple of women came up and asked where I got the desserts. They were wonderful.

I was really feeling the effects of the Hard Cider and then the cherry colada. That and the four hours of sleep that I had and I needed a nap. Taking Anita’s advice from an earlier trip and a similar situation, I went here…

Great I got a 40 minute nap. REALLY! I got in the vehicle had the row to myself – made myself comfy and was out before I reached the dinosaurs.

Arriving at DHS I was waiting for the parade. I wanted to get the other sections of this parade before it goes away.

Not sure what caused this

Around 4 pm it is hot and a bit crowded so I head back to the room. I also had to get more batteries. I return to the bus stop at 6pm.

I wonder if these will change to reflect AoA resort.

I have FP burning in my pocket.
I head to TSM. A personal best.

I grabbed one of these after the parade so it was time to use it.

I walked from DHS bach to to EPCOT.

All my “errands” done I head back to room and I am in bed by 10:30.

I appreciate you reading along. That dessert was A MAZE ing. I realized when I got home that "bookends" on a conference were really draining. I was exhausted when I got home.
This year I am just going before the conference. Next year, depending on what the dates are I may just do 2 separate trips. Packing for 2 functions is a bit difficult.

Me getting carded was the highlight of my trip. Even moreso than Joel
