HELP WANTED: California Grill vs. Yachtsman, which is better?

Please help determine the winner of Round II of my Signature Smackdown Semi-Final competition between California Grill and Yachtsman Steakhouse. (See my ongoing Dining Review for further details.)

If you have only been to one of these restaurants and had a good experience then give that restaurant your vote. If the experience was not good, then vote for the other restaurant. And if you haven't been to either one then vote for the one you would most like to try.

These are my 2 favorite Disney restaurants.....so hard to choose. I have to give California Grill the edge for the view of the castle.

We went to both of these place a few weeks ago and I enjoyed the food at Yachtsman so much better. Service was wonderful also. At Cali Grill the view was better, but very loud and we ended up with a very annoying waiter.

YSH is our choice. We've done both and found CG lacking in terms of service and quality of food. About the only thing that CG does have going for it is the view of the MK, especially if you are there for the fireworks.

But we are talking about dining here. We've always had great service at YSH and the steaks are cooked exactly to our specification. The lobster bisque is to die for - as are the onion rolls slathered with butter and roasted garlic!

Have never been to California Grill, but Yachtsman was amazing .

If you just want a great view, go to the California Grill. If you want good food, go to the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

For view, atmosphere California grill. The Yachtsman's food is good maybe even better than California grill. Although if you like sushi then California grill wins on all levels.

We think CG is WAY overrated. YS is very good.

California Grill isn't what it used to be. Food and service used to be spot on - not so much anymore. It's a real shame. But if you want to go, I suggest making an early reservation (around 5:45) or going after fireworks (if at 9, do a 9:30).

Yachtsman gets some varied reviews too, but I've always had a good experience there. I'd give it a try!

I have been to Cal Grill a few times, always seated in the Wine Room. Our meals there have been wonderful.

We ate at Yachtman's for my recent birthday. Service was great through appetizers -- amazing lobster bisque. Waiter said our steak (splitting a porterhouse) would be right out and then we waited for 20 minutes. Totally unclear about what happened. The steak was disappointing. It had gristle on the filet side of the steak! I know you have to try places more than once, and we'll give it another shot, but this was to celebrate my 60th, and a big disappointment.

summer 2007 california grill was fantastic...food, wait staff, atmosphere couldn't be beat but 1st week of december 2010 waiter worst i've ever had, food had to go back as scallops were soooo undercooked it was a health hazard, and we were temporarily sat at a bar table that was dirty from the last people and not cleaned up for 20 minutes after they sat us there plus waitress never came back...such a let down after our 2007 visit. not sure if i'm going back any time soon.

Haven't been to either but have always wanted to go to California Grill.

Finally got it on my list for October

Yachtsman just doesn't seem to cut it in most reviews but may also try that too. (Well trying DXDDP so may as well go all out!!)

These reviews are great just what I needed. We've never ate at either before. For our next trip I was thinking Cali Grill, but after reading the reviews now I'm thinking YS.
