Let me preface my post by saying, "This isn't my idea, I'm just refreshing it...."

Wasn't there some talk of seeing Yeehaw Bob sometime around the cruise?

Friday pre-cruise? Saturday after the meet? Saturday or Sunday after the cruise?:confused3:confused3:confused3

Yes, it was mentioned. I think for Friday pre cruise, but it wasn't me.

I remember it being mentioned but it wasn't me either.

Yup it was me but I've not made anything official. Friday pre-cruise would make the most sense given the Boardwalk meet on Saturday but a lot of people are not coming in until Saturday. We had a great time at the River Roost during DAP with Bob for Kim's birthday. We literally took over the place. "Two french hens - DEBBIE!" :lmao:

I'm still trying to figure my park time schedule so not ready to make anything official just yet.

Deja vu - Happy Thursday folks! :wave2:

Went for a walk with DH last evening and told him about the advantages of buying 10-day no expiry tix for our December trip...he's leaning towards just buying what we need cuz he says we don't know when we'll be back  :scared1: He said he wanted to think about it :sad2:

cheers,
:flower3:

Happy Thursday Karen. :wave2:

Don't know when you'll be back? :scared1:

We are giving serious consideration to letting our AP's lapse in March 2011 and going the 10 day non-expiry route. If not for the value but to force me to enjoy non-park activities. I still do the parks like I did 20 years ago. :goodvibes

But isn't that the beauty of a non expiring ticket? It doesn't matter when the next time is, you'll have tickets available--and they will be cheaper to purchase now than whenever the next time is.....

That's what I said, Todd!!! :thumbsup2 All I heard when he said he wanted to think about it was "my Disney days are numbered" :sad1: I know we have some other destinations queued up but I thought we'd still slip in a close-to-annual visit. C'mon, we'd have to come back for the podcast cruise on the Dream!!

cheers,
:flower3:

I would love to do the YeeHa Bob night again! Just not sure if we can make it this time. Will have to figure out timing and stuff. :)

Maybe a YeeHaw before and after, kinda like there are multiple MVMCP meets? That way more folks might be able to attend?:confused3

GM George

YHB sounds like fun - we'd be up for it when you're ready to announce :goodvibes

cheers,
:flower3:

How does Saturday the 18th sound? There are no evening EMH hours that I could see. Gives everyone a chance to enjoy the parks into the evening then head to Riverside for YHB. Hopefully enough people are still around post cruise to make this worth while.

Closings: AK-6pm, DHS-8pm, Epcot-9:30pm, MK-10pm

YHB goes until midnight / 12:30am

If this has legs I'll make it official.

I concur with your findings and logic. :teacher:

When the MYW tickets first came out in 2005, a 10-day non-expiring park hopper WITH 5 water park days was $334! I bought one for my son then, and I wish I had bought a few more. Now the 10-day non-expiring hopper costs MORE than an annual pass! The past few years I have been buying a 10-day non-expiring hopper from Undercover Tourist in July (before the August price increase), then using it to upgrade to a new annual pass at a later date. Because the gate price of the 10-day NE hopper is higher than that of an AP - I haven't had to pay any more to upgrade to the AP. However, when my AP expired at the end of January, I renewed it this time to get the additional 3-month extension, so I still have a 10-day NE hopper for future use.

As of right now, we will not be able to attend this one. We're heading back home that day...but I know that you guys will have a blast!! :thumbsup2

Oops!
I thought I'd fly home Saturday night and have Sunday at home to recover and get ready for work on Monday. Good thing I did not make my plane reservation. Next plane out is noon-ish on Sunday.

Don't want to miss Yee Ha Bob with the gang!

Since we're all planning pre and post meets ... if anyone else is staying in the Port Canaveral area prior to the cruise ... would anyone be interested in a meet for breakfast the day of the cruise?

I am not convinced about the non-expiring pass.

When I did the math, the cost per day of a ten day NE pass is about the same as two five day passes. Even with a 3 -5% annual price increase, I think they are a gamble.

In my situation, say I use a seven day pass this year. I pay extra money to make it a ten day non-expiring pass. I now have a three day ticket I can use in the future. I come back later, even years later. Three days wouln't be enough for a trip, I will still need to buy more days.

Hhmmm... can I use those three remaining days as the base to add more (cheaper) days?

No - you can't add days to any pass after 14 days from first use - even a non-expiring one. You also can't add days to a 10-day pass - even within the first 14 days.

The non-expiration cost for a 10-day park hopper is quite high, and it's the same price whether you have 9 days left or 1 day. The 10-day non-expiring hopper is best for multiple short trips over the course of several years.

**It costs $222.59 to add no expiration to a 10-day ticket. http://allears.net/pl/ticketchart.htm

The 10-day non-expiring hopper is best for multiple short trips over the course of several years.

This is the key - multiple short trips - that makes the NE pass work.

When travel costs are factored in, I know that I will never be taking short trips.

Wow, fab planning, George! :thumbsup2

Works great for us, we'll be at DHS that nite and will make our way to YHB for a late nite  before we head for the airport early next morning - maybe that's why DH always finds WDW trips tiring :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Anyone have any ideas of what transportation would look like from Riverside back to Swan at that time?

The price increases are staggering when you put them up for comparison :sad2: Clever trick to pick it up and then just apply the whole thing :teacher:

 DH & I will be heading there after the Boardwalk meet on Saturday nite...don't have a room booked yet but likely will be staying at one of the free shuttle places. Looks like you started something Mike :rolleyes1 :rotfl: :rotfl:

cheers,

Same here. With rising airfares, my WDW trips will have to be longer and less frequent - even though my annual pass sure makes that difficult!

I'm not on the Podcast cruise, but I'll be at WDW Dec. 12-17. I have gotten this close to buying a new one-way return ticket for Dec. 19 so I can spend more time at WDW, but so far I've resisted. I'll be back in late Feb. and again in late April, so I'll be more careful to book longer stays the next time I buy my plane tickets!

Anyone interested in Tusker House / Finding Nemo?

I am proposing Friday, December 10.

Seating at Tusker House from 1:00-1:40 will be eligible for the 3:15 Nemo performance.

Karen. Other than hitching a ride, cab, or towncar, the only option is a bus or boat to DTD, then a bus to the Swolphin. Last boat leaves Riverside about 11pm. You have to stay later of course. :cool1:
