Mom's Club in home Celebration ! Boxes are arriving - 77 DIS'ers in so far

Our party is Friday night. I have a "door prize" to give each guest - just an assortment of Disney items that we have and don't need any more.

We are going to play Disney bingo and heated matches of Disney Scene-It (girls vs. moms).

I am also having dessert and snacks - served with our princess tea cups and Mickey silverware...

Hi All! The parties ideas are sounding great. We are having a Disney Luau on Saturday. We have been having luau's for about 4 years now so we had most of the decorations already, just added a few Disney things to it. We put together photo boards to display our vacation photos so those that haven't been yet can see what it is like. I gathered park maps to put out and we'll play the dvd while the guests are here and of course have our luau music and disney music in the cd player. I got a flag from Disney shopping that has the flamingo from Fantasia on it, it should go perfect with our luau theme. He is wearing Mickey ears and there is a silhouette of Cinderella castle in the background. We are thinking about doing hidden mickey's around the house too. I have mickey rice crispy treats in the freezer, sure hope they taste ok when we take them out. Going to do mickey shaped pbj for the kids and put out lots of finger foods for the adults. I am going to make cupcakes and put red, white and black mickey head sprinkles on them too. Joined the group on facebook, will probably post my pics on my facebook account if anyone is interested in seeing them when they're up. Hope everyone's parties go great!

Wow, the luau sounds great! I love the flamingo flag and Mickey sprinkles ideas. Can't wait to hear how it went!

I hosted my party this weekend and it was a lot of fun. I went with a classic Disney theme. Nothing too outrageous. If you guys would like to take a look, just click on the Over The River and Through the Woods link in my signature below. The party pics are near the end of the pre-trip report. Please feel free to post your thoughts.

Thanks! I kept my number of guests very limited so we'd have more time to visit with one another and it'd be more intimate.

I think some people just don't "get" the fact that it's an honor to have been chosen to host the parties and that the party will be fun. Maybe you could lure them by saying they'll be registered for a free diamond necklace. A diamond could go a long way.

Ohh, I didn't think about that. I did put on the evite that the Mom's Panel had provided suprises for the guests. :)

I think some of my guests still thought i was going to try and force them to book at vacation while at my house ;) :rotfl:

Well my box finally arrived, crushed. It had a hand written label on it on construction paper. And i got copies of the same prints as last years, not this years. Where there fortune cookies this year? If so i didnt get any. I really wanted the princess prints.

I didnt get any fortune cookies.....I dont think they were suppose to be in the box this year....bummer.....sorry your box was smashed!!!

Did you have a party store inflate them with helium? DD, DH and I are having a big laugh over trying to flow them up ourselves...they don't really look like Mickey heads. :rotfl:

Yes, I took them to our local party supply store and had just one inflated so I could see if they'd be able to do it without popping them! They sold laytex mickey head shaped balloons there too and the girl said she was used to inflating them, you just had to go real slow while putting the helium in them. I thought it was going to pop for sure while she was doing it but she was right, she knew what she was doing. I looked for their balloons to see how much they were....there were only 2 in a pack and they were white. They were $4 for 2 balloons! My hubby is going to take the rest of ours in Sat. morning b4 our luau and have them inflated. I hope that same girl is there again!

Well....I have learned that if you place a phone order with Disney World Merchandise you should do it waaayy in advance! I placed an order on April 15th...2 weeks ago...for the mickey ice cube tray, mickey pasta, cookies and pretzels. I called to check on my order today as my party is Saturday and it is still not here. The lady informed me UPS had not yet picked it up from them, she said probably by Monday and then it would take a few days after that to get here. :sad2: Guess we won't be having mickey pasta, cookies, pretzels or ice cubes at the luau! :sad1: Sheesh.....that was $30 I surely could have spent elsewhere. Guess I will know better next time. Hope everything else goes smoothly!

Toys R Us had a helium tank (with extra balloons) on sale last Saturday for $24.99. I used it to fill up our balloons and we still had helium left.

I have a print left. You wanna trade? If so, let me know and we can make arrangements to mail each other a print.

I've ordered items from Disney World merchandise and it took over 3 weeks for me to get them.

Maybe your family can have a Disney night and make use of the items you ordered.

Hi Ladies,
My Disney luau is 10 1/2 hours away and I am sooo tired. Been cleaning, cooking, decorating all day! I was boiling water to make my pasta salad this afternoon and the doorbell rang. It was UPS with my Mickey Pasta!!! :worship: Even though the lady I talked to yesterday told me my box was still sitting in their warehouse. Oh well, glad she was mistaken. :) Hope everything goes ok tomorrow and everyone has a good time. Aloha!!

Wow, I'm so glad you got your package in time! I hope you have a great party. All the running around will be worth it in the end!

Any parties this past weekend?? How did they go?

After prepping and planning for our party, I must have been loopy with Disney on the brain--we booked our first cruise on the Dream!

Disney knew the effect this party planning would have on us!!

Hi All! The Disney Luau was alot of fun, I am so glad everyone enjoyed themselves!! Boy, did we have alot of food left over tho. The balloons were inflated at the party supply store around 9:30 a.m. and were still up in the air at 10 pm that night so I was impressed with that as I had been told they'd only last about 6 hours. The kids played bingo and got prizes while the adults played Disney trivia (guys against the gals) and got prizes. After the games everyone was given their totes with a few extra goodies added to them. I wish I had thought to take pictures of everything we put inside them! I added Disney soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc., a paper disney photo frame and a lanyard for them to wear.

Everyone did enjoy the luau candy I made and the Mickey and Minnie suckers. The Mickey rice crispie treats were a big hit also. The kids went outside and played in the pool, jumped in the bouncy house, did the limbo and had an Aloha Hop race (sack race). We had hawaiin music playing in the background while the Disney dvd ran on the laptop. We all talked about past and future Disney trips and it was a good time for guests that had never been to ask questions. I have pics posted on my facebook page if anyone is interested. Anyone else have a party this weekend?
