Sorry if this is repetitive (too many pages to read) . . .

Does anyone know when the Dream dates/itineraries will be released? I know it will be doing the 3 and 4 night trips, but I've read that some people think it may do 7 nighters during the summer while the Magic is in Europe. Does anyone have any more info???

Alaska sounds wonderful, BUT the round trip itinerary prevents a land extension - bummer! I was hoping for northbound/southbound trips so that I could visit Denali after the cruise.

The dream will be doing 3/4/5 day bahamas and possibly 7 day carribbean

I took the photo this morning when I could not get into the DCL presentation.

Things I noticed about the model. There are two pools between the stacks. On the starboard side near the back stack there was a slide. The slide did not terminate in either pool. In front of the first stack was another pool (The adult pool?). In front of the masts above the helm there were deck chairs. There were no sports courts in that spot like they have on the Wonder and the Magic. Looked like the crew pool was on the bow again. Not sure what the forward facing port holes are. Other than that it looked much like the current ships, just bigger with additional decks.

Ugh... the airfare from Chicago to Vancouver vs. Chicago to Seattle is $400 higher!

I guess if we go through with this, we will fly into Seattle & take a train/bus to Vancouver. Amtrak Cascades sounds like fun. But then we will have to figure out how to get from the airport to the Amtrak station. I wish DCL was leaving from Seattle, or LA!!!

So, what is the probable location for the 3 other ships? I heard one of the old ones (Magic probably) would be in Dover, England?

Dream and Fantasy will be home based in Florida
Magic in Europe somewhere
Wonder will be based on the west coast.

This is what is expected for at least the next few years.

So I'm trying to figure out what time I need to get up on the 28th... :) I have to work that day and I want to book before I leave. I'm on the West Coast.... What time does DCL open for bookings? 8 am EST?????

Darn hope they put up the live broadcast soon for the folks who missed out. It was fun to watch.
Try youtube. :)

I'm so excited about Alaska... but I'm bummed about the "repeat guest" 5 or more cruises issue. We've only cruised 3 times but with 28 nights. We prefer the longer cruises and we don't live close enough to warrant (budget-wise) multiple shorter cruises. Even with our 14nt booked in 2010 we STILL won't qualify... it'll only be 4 cruises but with 42 nights total!!!!!! Someone else could cruise 5 times 3nt cruises and only have 15nts total. And probably paid a lot less for that than we did for our cruises (especially since we always book 2 rooms for our family of 5). Doesn't seem fair.
But honestly I really don't care EXCEPT that it may cause us to cruise less often- who knows if we'll even be able to make the Alaska cruises. We rebook onboard and transfer dates the DAY the dates become available- in order to be able to get the lowest price possible before the prices skyrocket so quickly. Given our experience, on the cruises we've booked, of the prices going up within minutes or hours I can only imagine how much higher the prices will be a WEEK after the dates first come out. :( It may be the breaking point for us. We've never booked a cruise a week after the dates came out (except our last cruise booked months later when the bargain pricing came out. that one was a fluke though and not something to be expected or planned on.) Not only a price problem for us but also could be a problem or us to get the rooms we want (and/or need- being a family of 5.)

So while I'm extremely excited about Alaska itinerary... I'm trying not to hold out TOO much hope that we'll be able to make those cruises. :(

You want to be on the phone at 5am...that is what I do. You may be on hold for up to 2 hrs or on line trying to get on. Best to leave it on speaker as you wait. Once you are able to get through the busy signals...that could take up to an hr in itself. But I have saved lost by doing this. even on the first day.

Holy cow -- ok... Thanks!!! Do the rates really go up in a matter of hours? Wow! Maybe I should take the morning off work. :rotfl:

You will have to be up at 5:00 am. That is what I will be doing as I am on the West Coast as well.

My understanding is that the Magic will also do seven night Carribean cruises when not in Europe. Am I wrong there?
