Ok you guys...its on, the LIVE Nicki and Todd..Summer edition!

I am just loving your report and pics. In fact I am changing my free dining ressie from the Polynesian to POFQ. I think the beignets are the main reason...actually the pics you posted of the grounds are lovely and I am also trying to save some $. :) If you don't mind could you post some interior room pics? TIA.

Mmmm...frozen slushy drinks...I wanna' be hanging by the pool!

Can't wait for more! You sure do make being at work more fun....

I love XFusion & Lemonade but never add in another shot of Vodka. Was it very strong to you? I know older DD and I will be cooling off with these lemonades during our POFQ stay...just don't know if I should ask to hold the citron vodka :confused3!

OMGosh.... I"M LATE!!!!!!

Okay, so RR is out for us in Oct... I can't see spending the dining credits on greasy squid rings, poop-balls, and dry bread... BLECH!!!!

We were originally going to stay at POFQ, but we changed (thanks Kathy!) to CSR... BUT FQ's still on my mind for our next trip... The grounds look so beautiful! (so does the taco salad & frozen concoctions! mmmmm!)

We may have to pick up a Tony's ressie, to make up for RR... we LOVE calamari!!!

Looking forward to more reviews (can't wait to know what you think of TH breakfast! hope you don't cancel!)

Love your report so far! Thank you for sharing and taking such great photos!!

Hope the rest of you trip is wonderful!!

don't forget the deep fried carrots...:scared:i mean just because it CAN be fried...doesn't mean it SHOULD be fried.. (sorry to go OT but that cracked me up..)now back to the regularly scheduled, lovely and detailed reviews...popcorn::

Just wanted to say I'm loving the reviews and hate that you and Todd had a miserable meal at RR. Ours was so good and I am sure that was NOT bread pudding they gave you! Your Cali Grill meal looked scrumptious, though!

I wondered where you've been...I knew this was one report you'd want to be in on! Well, now you have an excuse to go next year...so you can try POFQ!

I'm a long time lurker but I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your reviews. Thanks for taking the time to do a live report--it's almost like being there :thumbsup2

I'm so glad you had a wonderful dinner last night. :goodvibes We've only been there once, for our 20th anniversary about 3 years ago and our waiter had been at WDW since it opened. He even had a special pin that only the original CMs could wear. I think his name was Rab, but pronounced Rob. Has any of the California Grill fans here ever met him?

Hoping your weather is nicer tonight for MK and tht you enjoyed Tony's! :yay:

Great pictures and fun to read reviews again - thanks! I'm sorry your first night at Raglan Road was so awful ... it just looked like they didn't care. :confused3

I showed DH the taco salad picture, we'll have to head over to FOFQ to get one on our next trip, it looked excellent! Tell them you get the next one for comission. :goodvibes

Enjoy the rest of your vacation, I'll be reading until the last morsel is consumed.

Damn. I made my killer guacamole, and that would be perfect for your taco salad. Wish we could join forces. That salad looked awesome.

So far, looks like a great day girlfriend! I take it the weather has cleared up today?:goodvibes

It was the best day! Gorgeous weather, nice breeze, no rain and a cool night!

Yay, more reviews! That cookie looked terrible.....and it didn't have nearly enough chocolate! That lemonade drink looked great though!

I think our October trip will overlap a bit with yours.....we'll be there the 25th through the 28th.

Thats great! Hope to run into you!

Not sure how you do it, but you make CS food look great. :rotfl:

Thanks girl! Its very hit or miss with CS places but so far we are doing great!

Can't believe how great that Taco Salad looks :) That could be on my list on our Pool day!! - alonge wth a couple of Fusion Lemonades ;)

It was a great lunch, awesome taco salad that didnt bite you back! The lemonade was delish!

Great report so far, Nicki! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your reviews. :)

Fyi, when we stayed at POFQ back in 2000, you could get your pool bar drinks with a "floater" on top for like $1. The "floater" is an extra shot of booze. Don't know if they're still doing that, but if you like a stronger drink, try asking for it.

Thanks so much! Great tip about the floater, they didnt advertise it but I intend to ask about it!

love POFQ and really am enjoying your reports .have booked CG for our next trip

Thanks for reading! Hope you love CG as much as we did!

The food looks so yummy - you do take the best food pics! ::yes::

So, pretty sure I'll be sorry I asked (b/c I just know it'll be one of those DUH why didn't I know that, but what does TIW stand for, please? :goodvibes

Sometimes the pools bar drink seem rather weak to me too - based on that I ordered something especially yummy with rum at BWV a couple of years ago and was sick all day b/c I expected it to be weak and had not had lunch first.:guilty:

Is tonight Tony's? Oh, boy!! Yummy!!

Thank you! Glad you like the pictures! The TIW is the Tables in Wonderland Card and you get 20% off of some CS and most TS places and at the TS places it includes the 18% tip....totally worth it for is..the cost for a FL AP holder is $75.

Yes we have found the drinks to be weak but still good! Tonys was tonight, review coming up soon!

Well, good weather, good food, good drinks. All in all, a great day. Hope it continues through the night! :)

It sure did girl...what a fantastic day!

It looks like a lovely day poolside! :cloud9: Looking at those drinks made me so thirsty I mixed up a little something for myself at home! It's not poolside but it's still Friday so it's definitely ok :thumbsup2
And it just gets better going to the MK later :cloud9: Have fun!

Yum what did you make?

Thank you! See, I knew it was going to be something I knew! ;) I always forget the new name - it changed since the last time I had an AP, but now I'll remember! :thumbsup2

Oh, boy...more food photos coming soon!:yay:

I LOVE the pictures! still!

I've noticed with the scrambled eggs, the earlier you get them, the "softer" they are - I of course prefer them solid hard - so I always get them runnier than I prefer!! :lmao:

I also have a hard time turning down biscuits and gravy!! I may have to rethink staying at a moderate! (and its all your fault!! :rotfl2: :worship:)

and if its not too nosey to ask - just how much is one of those Fusion Rum pool drinks??! YUM RUM! :rotfl2:

Thank you so much for reading them! I told DH that I wanted to change our Oct ressie and spend a few more nights at POFQ and less at BWI....save the money for food instead :rotfl: I would love to post pics of the room but the maids have not done our room since we arrived and I am ok with it, I guess...we have been out of the room from 10am to 3pm the last 2 days but the room was still as we left it...BUT the maids have left us more coffee, soap, towels etc. I did call Mousekeeping today and they said they could not send someone to clean the room but they would make sure our room was taken care of tomorrow morning.

Mmmm...frozen slushy drinks...I wanna' be hanging by the pool!

Can't wait for more! You sure do make being at work more fun....

Glad I could help you out!

The citron vodka added a nice grapefruit flavor to it, very refreshing drink and not stong at all. You will love it!

WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN! :lovestruc We enjoyed CSR too but the one thing about POFQ is the quiet atmosphere, the super small resort, the buses are not full, the pool is quiet....we love it here! More reviews coming right up!

Love your report so far! Thank you for sharing and taking such great photos!!

Hope the rest of you trip is wonderful!!

We are having a blast, thanks so much for reading!

don't forget the deep fried carrots...:scared:i mean just because it CAN be fried...doesn't mean it SHOULD be fried.. (sorry to go OT but that cracked me up..)now back to the regularly scheduled, lovely and detailed reviews...popcorn::

That is a very true statement!

I am so happy you are enjoying the reviews, thanks for reading them! If something is working and tastes good they should leave well enough alone! Brenda hit it on the head, they took bread and just crammed it in a coffee cup! :rotfl2:

I wondered where you've been...I knew this was one report you'd want to be in on! Well, now you have an excuse to go next year...so you can try POFQ!

She's late, she's late, for a very important date! :lmao:

I'm a long time lurker but I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your reviews. Thanks for taking the time to do a live report--it's almost like being there :thumbsup2

Glad to be of service and thanks for posting and not lurking!

Weather is gorgeous, wish we ate at Cali Grill tonight instead for a better view. It has been a perfect day!

Great pictures and fun to read reviews again - thanks! I'm sorry your first night at Raglan Road was so awful ... it just looked like they didn't care. :confused3

Enjoy the rest of your vacation, I'll be reading until the last morsel is consumed.

We were sitting by the pool and the guy next to us said "Have you eaten at this food court yet?" He was staying at POR and was sick of the food...so DH told him to get the taco salad...about an hour later he came back out and said the taco salad was a huge hit with his family, they had that and the chicken quesadillas and they all love it!

Damn. I made my killer guacamole, and that would be perfect for your taco salad. Wish we could join forces. That salad looked awesome.

Ok get your tush down here and we will eat it tomorrow! :worship:

Hope you had an awesome time today! I see the weather is supposed to be gorgeous in Florida tomorrow!

(see you were posting when I posted!!)

Good evening ya'll! We are back from our "late night" at MK...I knew we would never last until 1 am, who was I kidding!

We made it to the bus stop around 5pm...a full bus heading to MK. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect, around 80 or so..I guess a cold front blew in :lmao:

Main Street was pretty packed but DH had to take a call so he went into the City Hall thing on the left and I had a front row seat to the new Celebrate Parade..third time I have seen it but it gets me dancing in the streets!

By the time he was done with his call it was time to check in for Tonys...the line to check in was backed up out the door...it was packed. We checked in without a hitch, waited 5 minutes and were seated directly in front of the fountain...I was staring at this gorgeous thing all night.

MKnightSat004.jpg

And believe it or not NO ONE came up to take pictures of or in front of the fountain, it was a very nice table, half booth half chairs.

Here are some pics of the menu

Our server, Jay, was awesome, very nice and funny and quick on the drink refills which is a huge plus for DH. He gets nuts if is drink runs dry. Jay brought over hot fresh chewy and crusty bread with olive oil full of dried basil, red pepper and other spices...it was amazing..we killed off all 6 slices and Jay was quick to bring more...smart lad.

MKnightSat003.jpg

DH had (suprise suprise) a craving for a caesar salad...this one was great too! Lots of garlic, a little too much dressing for me but he likes his salad wetter than me, the croutons were nice and crunchy, it was a delish salad and we had no problem polishing it off (I am going to post the next few pics with and without flash, I was having camera issues)

MKnightSat008.jpg

MKnightSat013.jpg

And of course we had to have calamari..I wish I ordered this as an entree too...the calamari at Tonys is incredible...the coating is super light, not greasy at all, the squid is so tender and not chewy or tough..the olive relish that comes on it is soooo perfect with the calamari, a nice zing and you do not need the marinara sauce (which is ick anyways)

MKnightSat007.jpg

MKnightSat006.jpg

I decided on the veggie eggplant...and Todd took it over and I will tell you why in a sec. There was roasted eggplant, red peppers, onions and zucchini layered in the lasagne and it was awesome....delish, light, tons of flavor and I think I had 3 bites of it.

MKnightSat015.jpg

MKnightSat014.jpg

DH decided on the Rigatoni Fagioli with grilled chicken in a curry veggie broth...I told him he wouldnt like it but he loves pasta fagioli so he thought he would like this....he thought wrong. That is when he switched my plate with his. The dish was different thats for sure....there was alot of cannellini beans and pasta and chicken and that was very good with more parmasan cheese on it but there was a scazillion capers in it and we do not do that many capers...there was zip taste of curry broth, tasted like a chicken broth to me. But being a nice wife I ate the pasta and chicken while he raved over the lasagne. You can get this dish veggie style, with chicken or shrimp. I would get it again with shrimp and hold the capers.

MKnightSat016.jpg

MKnightSat017.jpg

We shared a dessert...the sorbet was green apple sugar free or the cheesecake was cannoli cheesecake and DH loves cannolis so we got that. IT WAS DA BOMB! Very light and creamy, hint of pistachio, chocolate and orange zest....YUMMO I could eat this all the time. We also had tea and coffee and just lingered for a bit...we were not rushed at all!

MKnightSat023.jpg

MKnightSat022.jpg

We really love Tony's, I know it gets alot of bad reviews but we think the appies and desserts are great and the entrees are pretty good. I would rather eat here than Crystal Palace.

After dinner we popped into the Candy Store and HEY MARE they did not have any gingerbread men. The place was super packed so I could not take a lot of pictures but I did see these new gummy pops and I thought they were so cute.

MKnightSat024.jpg

MKnightSat025.jpg

We went into the Bakery and it was packed to the gills as well. I wanted to snap lots of menu pictures for you guys but everything was nuts. It was after 7pm and I guess alot of people eat at that time

We did ride a few rides with zero wait but Splash Mountain had a 70 minute, BTRR had 50 minutes so we did a walk on for POTC and HM. It was a very busy night but we did catch the parade, the fireworks and we thought it would clear out but it never really did. We did have a 20 minute wait for BTRR and it is great to ride that at night in the last car...so fast!

Then we went to Fantasyland and did all the kiddie rides and decided to turn in but DH needed something sweet and not much is open, Peco Bills and Caseys had lines out the doors. Aloha Isle was open so I got a glass of ice cold sweet and tangy pineapple juice...love this stuff!

MKnightSat027.jpg

And DH got a baby aspirin dessert...oh my bad, the citrus swirl. It is orange sherbert like stuff and vanilla ice cream...basically a frozen baby aspirin! ICK but he loved it.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! :worship:

Getting up early has its advantages :lmao: means I can catch your evening review right before you get to bed!

Thank you so much for that :thumbsup2 on Tony's. It's our 4th attempt to try it and we never made it for one reason or another, but the calamari look devine and I love eggplant, so that lasagna is calling my name!

Get a good night's sleep, girl! You deserve it!! :goodvibes Hope the rest of your vacation is as wonderful as today seems to have been!
