NOV. Hours & EMH - ALL are UP!

Okay I'm torn...I know Robo said that the 15th -16th at DHS would not be bad at all with SSW...but I'm still freaking and wondering if I should change my ADR and not go to DHS on the 15th and switch it for another day...I'm looking at the 10th. Also...do most people go to the parks back to back during their vacations or do you do MK one day then DHS another, etc. etc...I was trying to schedule the parks back to back with two days at each...but maybe that does not have to be done...we do have the park hopper for 10 days...any thoughts would be appreciated....thanks in advance!!!

I'd hate to think that anything I said ruined your vacation.

and even though the hours are up, i still find myself checking this post. i guess we need to keep it going until they close it down!!!

Me too! It has been a habit for a month now and besides I'd miss everyone!:worried:
Just a quick question-- Is an ADR for 5:25pm for LTT on Nov 3rd too late to get a good spot for SpectroMagic at 7pm? Should I keep a 4:25- even though that is early for dinner? I need to cancel one. Thanks for any thoughts!:)

Robo...another quick question regarding my "dilemma". Since we are staying 10 days...(originally we were only staying 8)...and I have the park hopper...do you think I should keep my days scheduled as I have and if we need to go back to DHS, due to crowds, that we can...I guess I'm thinking it might be a pain to get the reservations I want if I change. I'm sorry to keep harping on this but this is our first time at Disney and I want to make it as wonderful for my family as I can. My apologies...and thanks for the info.

Ok.. i have only been to WDW twice, Nov. will be our 3rd time. Neither time did we ever do the extra hours... but this time we may. My question to any of you is..... Say i go to MK for the day, but HS is staying open late that night. Do we have to get over to HS by a certain time to get in to enjoy the extra hours? Our first day there.. we are going to MK and HS does have the extra evening hours, i just want to make sure that when we go over there, we are able to get in.

DId I miss something, besides hours being posted on the only day all month that I was out of the state for the day? I thought people had reported that CMs had been saying that there were special events planned for Nov and that was part of the hold up. Anyone know of anything?

All of the rumors, gnashing of teeth and dread were apparently unfounded.

It looks like the hours are just about "normal" and I can't see any reason for them to be over a month late in posting.
:)

You can enter the EMH park at ANY TIME during the EMH and get your wristband just inside the gates.

Are you "calmer" now? ;)

There is no "one right way" to visit the parks.
Some people visit all 4 parks in a row, then go back and re-visit their favorites in the remaining days.

That, to me, always makes the most sense, so you CAN pick up on anything that needs to be done that might
have been missed the first time through. And, you get a much broader variety of attractions by going to each of the parks on consecutive days.

BUT, if you'd like to "pair the days," that's just fine, too!

Again, if you are nervous about this , subscribe to

Tour Guide Mike (top of this page)

or the Unofficial Guide- www.touringplans.com

They each have schedules of which days they consider to be the best to visit each park.

And please feel free to ask me or anyone else here all the questions you want.
I just don't want you to "freak out" over the little things.

:thumbsup2

That is for EEH's as well? On Nov. 24th we are planning on starting our trip at MK, but that evening.. HS has the extra evening hours. Normally HS closes at 8pm... do i have to get there a certain amount of time before 8pm to get the wristband? :faint:

The Osborne Lights web page is still up, but no dates have been listed. Everyone's hoping they'll put that information up soon. Robo assures everyone that the Osborne Lights will, indeed, be running this year. :thumbsup2

DH sent me the following information this afternoon from the Intercot website:

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
November 28, 2008 - January 4, 2009
Hollywood Studios
Discover a dazzling display of pure Disney delight presented by SYLVANIA! Immerse yourself in the joy of the holidays as you're surrounded by millions of blinking, twinkling lights performing in synchronized motion to memorable holiday music.

http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/calendar/events.asp#December_Events

I can't seem to find this information anywhere else. So, don't take it as fact until WDW themselves announces the dates. Just thought I would pass on the info DH sent me. :goodvibes

We were at WDW a couple of years ago for the week of Thanksgiving. I remember we were told that they were not lighting up the display until after Thanksgiving. We were at DHS (MGM Studios) the day before Thanksgiving and we were pleasantly surprised when the lights came on. So, they "may" light it up the week of Thanksgiving too. Just don't "expect it" from these dates. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Here's another one- what's the Block Party Bash?
Man, I thought I knew all the special things at WDW and here are two I didn't know about!

PM EMH at Epcot-

1) 9pm-12 Midnight (Holiday season 9:30pm-12:30am)
2) Same for both FW and WS
3) The gates are already open... since regular hours.
4) PM EMH starts at regular park closing time, not 11pm.

AM EMH begins one hour before regular park opening time and continues until regular opening time.
PM EMH begins at regular park closing time and continues for 3 hours following.

There is no "break" between regular hours and EMH hours...
the park is open continuously for WDW resort guests.

Im just curious, how do they kick out guests who are not staying on Property? How do they know who is who?

In order to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours, you MUST present your valid KEY TO THE WORLD (resort i.d.) card at the park turnstile. If you fail to do so, than you will most likely be turned away. The Extra Magic Hours are only offered to those guests who are staying at:

a)Shades of Green
b)Walt Disney World-Owned Resorts
c)Hilton at Downtown Disney
d)Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin

OH NO!! I sure hope Intercot is wrong! I saw the 'Lights the week they started last November and one big reason I planned my trip this year for the same week is so I could see the 'Lights again. I will be VERY disappointed/angry if they don't start until the end of November!

I'm taking this as a RUMOR, RUMOR, RUMOR, RUMOR at this point.

It COULD be absolutely correct...
but it was only on the single website.

Until the dates appear on the official WDW site, there's no need to
panic about it.

(Plenty of time to panic later if it proves to be true.) ;)

I'm not sure if I would trust those dates. The reason for this is because the Osborne Lights in 2007 started November 12th. I know that isn't much to base my statement on, but I still wouldn't trust those dates, because of the fact that Disney has yet to put them up on their own website.
