I find the whole thing incredibly disturbing. I thought the whole points thing was supposed to clarify what could and could not be done so there would not be any random bannings. Not to mention that posts are disappearing before my very eyes on this thread.

How are we to know that we can't do something if it isn't listed? What sites are DIS approved?

I don't know the whole story, but the DIS directed over 1000 people to that site. Isn't that the DIS's problem?

Still not sure what all those people could have done. I've read over there. Not everybody is nice, but that means they can't post here?

Everyone is not nice on these boards, either. Yet a lot of the posters here get away with saying anything they like. And they go over to "the other side" make up several false names and throw dirt and accusations and then come back here and play pious and holier-than-thou.

I hope things get straightened out and the banning of people simply for posting on another site was a mistake/fluke/misunderstanding. There were some of the list I sure didn't cry over, however I don't think that anyone, including some people on my "crap" list, should be banned for simply using another board. If they are continually ragging on the DIS I don't know why they'd want to post here, but from the rumors I've heard that wasn't the case. I can't imagine Miss J and kejoda talking smack on the UN. I don't know Aidensmom or PhD as well, but I've respected their opinions in the past.

Yeah - Helenabear, Poohnatic, PoohandWendy, katerkat, Bob Slydell, kejoda, DisneyPhd, Aidensmom, MissJasmine, becka are just horrible people - scum of the earth. NOT! What about Snoopy/Junie Jay? One of the most popular mods/posters ever - banned!

What has transpired ? ... or are you satisfied with one side of the story ?

We've only heard one side - Doc - and 36 people have been banned for no reason. Let's hear the other side.

I have spent 8 years on this board. I've established close friendships with many people. I've met several of them in real life. I exchange birthday and Christmas gifts with many.

When someone, even a poster I don't know, asks for prayer for a loved one - I actually bow my head at the keyboard and say a prayer right then and there.

I've watched posters grow from highschoolers and college kids to married people with children.

I've been online and became part of a thread when a fellow DISer was so down that he wanted to commit suicide and lots of us stayed up all night telling him that life was worth living.

I've checked the DIS anxiously awaiting news of a birth of a new DISer.

I always thought this was a family board -- sure we had our share of Crazy Uncle Eddie's and Weird Cousin Al's. Just like any family, I haven't always liked all members. Heck, yeah, I even detest a couple. But, like in RL, I tried to ignore the bad because the good was far more.

That's all changed. Someone took off my rose colored glasses and broke them.

The tide has been turning for a couple of years. The iron fist has been lowered time and time again -- for piss poor reasons.

If you don't share the "popular board view," you're in trouble. No, you're banned.

This entire banning situation was uncalled for -- and it's just a big old fiasco and obviously an embarrassment to the management and they are trying to sweep it under the table.

What a disheartening week for the DIS Community.

ok, this is how I see it. Some may have disagreed with threads, could not express how they truly feel. They went elsewhere to express that. If ppl did not want ppl to get into their life so to speak, they why where they so personal in the first place??? They have seen it before here, what has happened.

I read over there but don't post because someone usually says it better then me, my grammer is horrible and I type just as bad. .

Does that mean if I do post there I'll get banned?

If the moderators are wise, they'll lock this thing up now. The announcement has been made. The owners can't discuss the situation. There's nothing more to be gained except people who have an agenda staging their attack from another website.

That is interesting - and probably why my username shows up. I was a member of a Vegas EZboard years ago, but I don't think it even exists anymore. All my other info - email address, etc. is the same as always.

I *think* that unless you've actually posted on a specific site there is no way anyone would know you're an EZboard member.

This is really disappointing. There doesn't seem to be a logical reason for all these people to have been banned. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for an explanation. I find it pretty darn hard to believe that Miss Jasmine did anything ban worthy.

As long as there have been message boards, there have been "anti" boards. TWOP has at least several. Heck, the old ACLU boards had one. It's just the nature of the beast. To think that some sort of lawsuit will stop that, is unrealistic imo.

I'm willing to listen to any explanation Webmaster Alex has to offer. But I don't think that being cryptic is the way to go. JMO
