How We Survived The Worst Disney Trip Ever - A Honeymoon TR - FINALE!!!!!

Thanks for keeping us updated. I have to say, I am not looking forward to the worst - I feel really bad for you two.

Yeah for losing your job!   What an opportunity to do something you want to do! I left my job last Summer and I am working from home - for myself - can't tell you how much better I feel!

Thanks for the link to that commercial! They had it out for Walt's 100th! It makes me think of how we should encourage kids to really go for their dreams - you never know what could happen! :hippie:

Thanks to all for your kind words!!! :flower3: I'm glad I got to share that commercial with you. DH said it was kind of "cheesy" - it was obvious who the boy in the bed was. Maybe the only reason he knew was because I only show him my favorite Disney commercials on YouTube and nothing else, really. He always asks me before I show him something, "Is this Disney?" Teehee. :rolleyes1

MAGICFOR2: What kind of work do you do from home? I wish I could work from home. That sounds nice.

Still looking and applying for jobs. Hoping and waiting for one job in particular that a friend of mine just quit as a receptionist at an OB/GYN office. She doesn't like working with people. But I do! I'd like to bring a little bit of "Disney" to a job. Working as a medical transcriptionist doesn't really allow for that. :surfweb: Besides, I would so totally get Mickey Mouse scrubs.

So are you ready for some really BAD days at Disney? They are looming up on the horizon! Speaking of which, I don't recall EVER riding "Horizons" as a kid. I simply do not remember it at all. What was great about the ride that so many people miss? Maybe you can explain.

More trip reporting soon to come!

Just found your report and am subscribing.

I know you said the worst is ahead, but I'm hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel for you guys.

It sounds grim to say this, but looking forward to more.

:flower3:

Hi, Just started reading your TR and am hooked. I just wanted reply to all those of you with bladder and yeast infections. You may already know this, but I will tell you any way. There is something called keifer (sp?) that you can drink or put into a smoothie, it is like yogurt but on steroids. it has a ton of good bactria. I have many friends who have been taking it and have major relief. You can just google it. Feel free to ask any questions. I hope this helps someone.

I meant to tell you earlier, I can totally sympathize with you. My solution was different from any I've heard here though. I suffered chronic and recurring UTIs for several years. Finally, a doctor sent me for dilation surgery. They dilated my urethra and I don't think I've had another UTI since. I think it's been 10-12 years. I would highly recommend it if you are a candidate. Unfortunately, I still get the occasional yeast infection, but that's when I take Augmentin, which I have learned to refuse with any doctor's prescription.

Sorry for the TMI, but hoping I can help some of you with my info.

Hi Colleen,
Just read your entire trip report and I'm all caught up. Your engagement video was amazing. Sorry your honeymoon is not everything you hoped it would be to say the least. I have to say we had a great meal at Coral reef in October. But maybe it is just more crazy crowded and the food is not as good during free dining. Sorry you got sick, how awful. Waiting for the rest of your trip report. I hope you do get back to Disney soon for a do over.

I can give you some Horizons perspective...ok here goes!

It was fantastic, you rode in a suspended vehicle a la Peter Pan but it had something under it unlike Peter.
It was narrated by a husband and wife who lived in the future and were kind of telling us about their lives and that of people close to them. I will always remember the part where they showed their daughter working in the orange groves and you could smell the oranges (whenever I get on Soarin' and smell thye oranges I lean over and whisper to my mom, "close your eyes for a moment and pretend you're on Horizons!!", and we both have a moment that results in a trickle of tear running down our cheeks.). And there was another part where they showed their grandchild learning about sea life from a classroom underwater (one of the little boys had his face up to the glass and was face to face with a seal!). Another part showed a family in space battling zero gravity trying to get the dog down from the ceiling. That's how the whole thing was. One part in the beginning had a man getting a hair cut and such from a robot whilst another robot was vacuuming the floor (this one is on display in the exhibit by the character connection that celebrates EPCOT's 25th).
At then end you could choose your ending by going through the desert, the ocean, or space. I remember always fighting with my niece about which we would take.
I was still fairly young when Horizons closed (I'm only 20 now) but I can still see it clear as day.
And I know how you feel about the old Figment ride. I cry at the end of the new one because it captures the essence of the first edition, as I call it. My dad bought me a DVD of the ride during the first edition and I love to watch it and pretend I'm 5 again. OH! And the white part was my favorite too!! I loved how Figment was going to use a rainbow to paint with and did, and I always wanted to ride on the merry-go-round that was in that room.
If you need any other kind of perspective, like, say, Wonders of Life or World of Motion perspective, I'm you're go to girl!

Can't wait to hear more!!

YEAH, a new update. Good luck with the job hunting! I hope you get the one you are wanting! :)

Great recap! I loved that ride/attraction also and you described it very well - makes me miss it even more! And the original figment too. :sad2: We saw the Epcot 25 display in February and it brought back great memories.

Oh this makes me miss Horizons so much! I rode it when I was 7 and 12 and only have vague memories. But every time I hear the ride track on Live365, I'm immediately transported back!

We always ate at Coral Reef for years but lately we have gotton away since it has changed greatly. Not as good and too noisy.

The new Tokyo Dining is great.
