We must be going at the same time because I have 73 days until we leave as well, we are leaving on Nov 30th arriving on the 1st. What building are you requesting? We are requesting Cabana's. Maybe we will be neighbors :)

ROLLAWAY Questions: Is it better to ask ahead of time for a rollaway, or is it okay to wait until you check in? Also, I assume that since I’ll be paying for the rollaway that Mousekeeping will take care of this bed the same as the 2 doubles, right?
They are on a first come first serve basis. CRO will tell you that they are not available when in fact they are. Housekeeping did make the bed each day and closed it up.

There were Mickey straws on sale at the food court at POP earlier this month. They were by the registers.

Hi Everyone!!

My DH and I are taking a three day weekend break from work( we both work in retail and December is a BEAR) December 14-16,2007. We have never stayed at CSR and are very much looking forward staying at a new and exciting resort. Does anyone know if things will be different in December? :santa: Pools closed? Are they heated? Any unique activities going on at the resort that we shouldn't miss?
This thread has been SO helpful! Thanks a bunch! :goodvibes
I think all WDW pools are heated to 80º. You just need to cross your fingers that the weather is somewhat warm. Have a great time!

I have requested Cabana 9B but don't know if we will be getting a room in that particular building. I added a day and we are now leaving 11/29- airfare is much cheaper to fly on a thursday compared to a friday. Only thing- we are leaving after work on thursday nite. Our southwest nonstop flight leaves out of buffalo at 6:20pm so we won't be getting to CSR until around 10ish- and this is why I don't think my request will be honored because are arriving so late. Have you stayed at CSR before? This is our first time there..

I'm glad you had a good time, we were also at CSR over the Labor Day weekend we arrived on Thursday and noticed by Friday night and Saturday that a lot more people started checking in, CSR is so big that I never felt overcrowded I just saw more people at the Digsite and more cars in the parking lot, we rented a car so I never noticed the buses, by Tuesday the place was emptying out. How did you like the Cabanas? We were in Cabanas 9A and enjoyed being near the quiet pool and a short walk to the Dig Site and ElCentro. We are returning next year and although we really enjoyed our location I'm thinking about requesting the Casitas's for a change since it also a pretty area with the different fountains and my DS liked going to the gym and would probably have used it more if we were closer I just don't know if I want to be further from the Digsite. :) Linda

This seems to be pretty typical in the Fall. I have now seen this happen in both early and late September. Things really fill up on the weekends then quiet down again by Sunday evening. Some of it is because of Night of Joy, MNSSHP, etc. but plenty of it is Florida locals who drive in from all over the state for a WDW weekend. And it does make sense--I think the Vacation Club charges more points for weekend stays, so that must be where the higher demand lies. Next time I go I am going to try to arrive on Sunday night and leave Friday night (and perhaps do some other Orlando stuff on Saturday).

I just got back from a 9 night stay at CSR and we thought it was beautiful. We ate at Pepper Market alot more than I thought we would but it was very nice. Big portions and the hugest cinnamon rolls I have ever seen. Here is some pictures and a few that I think Buzz wanted to see of the Laguna bar.

Amber74- Great pics, really cute kids-thanks for posting!!:thumbsup2

(Lilolvr-thanks for "boo-ing" me. I'm having a little technical difficulty adding to my sig-hopefully I'll get it worked out this weekend!;) )

Amber-

My family and will be there in 2 weeks for our first WDW trip.
I have a couple of ?'s.

1. Are those jackets from the resort? My son is 4 and was planning on bringing the one he typically swims in, it's the soft Speedo type that is really comfortable for him. Did you find the life jackets comfortable for the kids? It would save some packing room.

2. Did you rent or bring your own stroller? did you use much around the resort? I'm thinking of just renting in the parks, but appears CSR may require a stroller for the 4yo.

Thanks.

1. You get the life jackets at the marina. You just bring your room key and tell them your name and you keep them the entire time you stay there. Then at the end of your stay just turn them back in. My son was very excited to put on the jacket each time but that might have been because he was going swimming. My baby never had a visible problem. They are the slicky material they didn't seem to be rough at all.

2. I brought 2 strollers for DS4 and DS22 months. They came in very handy when we ate late at Pepper Market or the quick naps in the afternoon or even DTD was a big help. If you have a small one walking you can only go as fast as them. It also saved us a ton of money. It would have been a nightmare for us had we not had both of our own.

Have a great time and be sure to look around the resort, go to the pool enough to make your son happy, an try out Peper Market.

Awesome pictures! They were so great that we are convinced not to do Polynesian next year for our 25th annivesary, but to continue with the CSR as we have our last several trips.

Oh how fun! So, do you rent the life jackets or just check them out?
I'm getting more and more excited (and glad that the men didn't talk me into booking WL this time! I can't wait to actually SEE the CSR in person!)

Amber, thanks for posting the pics. I just returned from a 1 night stay last week (was in Orlando anyway and decided to stay so I could book the bounce back deal!), and I can't wait to return. I wish I had taken more pics.

Love the pics of your kids! We'll be taking our DD who will be just over 2 years old and her 10-year-old cousin. Looks like a lot of fun! I tried out the Dig Site pool and loved it. Glad to hear that your taking your own strollers worked out well. I'm going to take DD's too.

Thanks again!

We are back from a 4 night stay at CSR and LOVED it!! We were in Casitas 1, rm 1217. It was a walk to get places, but we didn't mind as we needed the exercise. We loved the Dig Site, great slide!!!

Pepper Market is my new favorite CS restuarant!!! The taco salad was to die for! DH really liked the room and we felt this was a better choice than last years WL. I would definately stay at CSR again.

The buses ran well (except when they had to load 3 handicapped at once at MK-long line until another bus came along!).

The service was excellent and the grounds quite lovely. We weren't bothered by the conventioners at all.

I'll try to answer any questions, but I think Buzz has pretty much covered it all in his awesome site and this thread!!
