Hi,
We were there over Labor Day weekend. We had room 8241 in the Cabanas. Buzz was right on. Are building was close to the dig site and pepper market. My only complaint was the room smelled like smoke. I called the front desk and asked the guy if it had been a smoking room. He said "the resort is non smoking" I told him I know as of June. But I asked him if it had been a smoking room. He said no apoligized and said he would send housekeeping up to deodorize. I don't know if he did or not but the room still stunk. It was really bad when you walked in then I guess after a while we got used to it. Until we walked back in. Now my DH use to smoke a few years back but he would always smoke outside were ever we were even at home. So it really pisses me off that people are so disrespectful. . Anyway if I had to do it over again I would have asked to be moved. We got home and the clothes smell like smoke. Even the ones that we didn't wear. But the resort was pretty it was our second time there. Not to impressed with the pepper market but I don't have anything to compare it too. We normally don't eat at the resort food court. My kids had the pasta and they loved it. I had the bourban chicken just ok. DH had the quesadillas and hamburger. He said it was ok but not enough. Boy mayby I should rethink the Dinning Plan. The CM's were very nice. Oh DH said the pool looked dirty. I didn't get a chance to check it out I had a huge headache. I told him the Disney doesn't use chlorine so mayby it looks different. My husband takes pride in our pool water so mayby he just wanted to pat himself on the back:lmao: . Anyway besides the room smell which had nothing to do with resort just some jerk who smoked in the room. It was great. Sorry it just bugged me about the clothes smelling. I'll try to post some pictures later.

Here's a couple of pictures from our room

That's from right outside our door.

HELP!
I have looked into hotels so much on here I'm getting a headache. We're seriously thinking of going the last week of December, despite the crowds it's the only time we can make it for awhile, but the problem is that because it is so busy I can't seem to get any hotels to pop up for us for that week. The only thing for a 5 person family that pops up is the CSR...we've never stayed here, mainly because of the price. I want the Disney benefits, but 515.00 a night is harsh. I can get the Hilton @ Disney for half that a night.
Do you think if I call there might be something available. I think I've heard somewhere that when you check online not all rooms are released.
Help me with my decision please, is the CSR worth the extra money??:confused3
Thanks!:)

That must be for a suite.

Buzz, or anyone else that can help. In 20 days  we will be arriving at CSR. I am traveling with my mother who is a senior and has some health issues. I requested Cabana 9 and now I am wondering if I should switch to Casita 1. Being close to the pool is not important, she would like to be close to Pepper Market and a bus stop. Where do you think we are better off?

In my opinion - I don't think it is that much of a difference to the pepper market. If I were you, I would fax the hotel to let them know of your Mom's health issues -- I have never found a hotel to be more accommodating.

Enjoy your trip - You are going to love CSR

Casita 1 is attached to the main building on the end closest to the Maya Grill and the Pepper Market. It isn't as close to a bus stop as cabana 9b is. It will come down to which place you will spend more time at, going to the PM or going to the bus stop. Again, these are only requests so there are no guarantees.

Hi there! We are starting to plan a trip to CSR! We are thinking of going during offpeak maybe - Beginning of Oct'08, or 1st week of Nov 08, or the 1st week of Dec'08. We are leaning towards 1st week of Dec. because DD would be turning 6 on Dec 5th. Out of these three options which would you choose? Also, what is the best strategy to getting the building you want? We stayed at the POR in May and I had requested a certain section months in advance and didn't end up getting it. Any pointers? Thanks!
CSR is great with all the x-mas decorations. All costs being the same, I'd go with Dec 08. Click on the info sheet below and scroll down to the link for the x-mas pics.

Are the photos on the DIS of the rooms current? I'm just wondering if any one else has taken recent pics of the rooms. Also, the Casitas look just stunning at night. Does anyone have pics of the Cabanas at night?

Thanks Buzz for all the info on this thread & your site. Great work!:yay:
No. All the rooms have/use the same bedspread now. The only differences are the headboard, armoire, boarder, curtains, and pictures.

We're thinking about returning to CSR next year! Last year we stayed at Cabanas 8b non smoking. It was quiet, close to the Dig Site, not too far from Pepper Market, and parking was great (much closer than WL or AKL).

This time we would like to try out a different section. We were thinking about Casitas. Would it be as convenient, and quiet as Cabanas? Thanks for your help.

I thought I saw a posting that listed how long it took the buses to get to each park from CSR. Does anyone know where I can find this info??
Thanks!

Just got back from Coronado (with free dining)!

We were in 7B Ranchos (again). We had an excellent mousekeeper! Everyday a different animal or set up! The kids (and DW) loved it.

We were very close to the laundry facilies and used it for the first time at CSR. The washers and dryers were high capacity and worked very well (they were much better than those on the Disney Cruise Line (which we were on the week before). Granted they were $2 a load and the DCLs were $1 a load... but in this instance you got what you paid for.

I had one very positive laudary experience. We had some stuff in the dryer. Went to Chef Mickey's for dinner. When we came back, all out clothes were folded for us (how nice)!

We had a very positive Pepper Market experience as well. After getting all our food my younger DD has a hissy fit as she now wanted the same meal as her older DD. The server got us the meal she wanted and did not charge us for it (very nice of her). Have her a special tip.

***BTW free dining is quite a deal****

A post a while back spoke about low water pressure in the showers. Fearing it I brought down a wrench and new shower head. I did not change it as I thought the flow was fine.

In addition I did not see the need to override the AC. I thought is was fine as well (and I was there starting on Aug 31).

Laundry fairies!! Now THAT'S some Disney magic for you! :thumbsup2

Will be at CSR very soon, a week from this coming wedensday actually. Came here and was glad to hear the laundry facilities were great and though expensive not a bad price. Considering we will be there 8 days 7 nights I worry I won't have enough clean clothes for the trip or even time to do laundry for that matter but didn't know you could safely leave your clothes in the dryer and come back. I'm very very worried about leaving my things be it clothes or whatever unattended in a public setting like that and especially where I live doing that is just stupid(I live in the city and not the safest one) but I forget that disney world is different but still I worry.

I didn't request a specific place or area but I sure hope I get Casistas or cabanas those rooms look really nice. I love the lights they have over the bed they are awesome. The cabinets are kind ugly but go with the rest of the resort so as long as they match it's not too bad. Really looking forward to staying there very soon. :yay:

We will be arriving Christmas Eve, late, around 11:00 - will the Pepper Market still be open for snacks? I also worry about it being a holiday and closing early....we will leave Philadelphia around 7:30:woohoo: , hoping to arrive in Orlando around 10:00:cool1: , then to Magical Express:yay: , then to resort.:cheer2:

Any opinions?:confused3 :flower3:
