My kids have known about the cruise for some time. At the 100 day mark we made a paper chain with a link for each day. They take turns tearing off the links every day.

Intellectually, the kids know they are going. Realistically, I'm not sure if they have a clue as to what they are in for. Every once in a while we watch the DCL video. I want them somewhat familiar so that they don't freak with the characters. Our 3 year old told us the other day that she was done talking about the "Mickey Ship" and was ready to go.

I may have to tell him soon...watching the video is a good idea.

I know he gets SO excited about things that if I told him too far out, he may have an anticipation meltdown!

I am done also. I will go up and read some more of the passporters just to make Jeff happy. I also need to try on some clothes. Have a good night everyone. Talk to you tomorrow.

Just remember that there are several of us that don't have passporters who enjoy hearing these tips and tats.

Good morning all!

Just catching up on last night's posts...had about 5 pages to read.

here's a question....for those of you that have young kids (say in the 3-6 range) have you told them about the cruise yet? I haven't told DS yet (he's 4), but he's going to be so excited.

We told our 4 year old 3 years ago when we booked it. Just because it is for here birthday. But we have regreted that at times because she was to young to figure out which birthday it was for so each year she got upset because we were not on the ship. Then we here about it on a daily basis. It was the first thing she told her teacher when she met her.

I agree with you. All 3 kids know about it but I don't think the older 2 really have a clue of what it is all about. We have watched the video but they just don't seem to get it. Mackenzie only being 4 seems to understand it better then they do at times. But then again I know she will be floored when we actually get to the ship based off of the size of it.

Kids are off to school for their 1st day! Hooray!!!

I have a ton of work to do so I won't even get to catch up on the 25+ pages that I haven't read....

Also hello to the new faces...

And I see that I am so close to catching up to Disgrits on the posting count... but I haven't the time to do it today... maybe on my next day of posting a whole page to myself I will do it.

Have a great and wonderful day everyone...

Here is one for you. Remember is you order any drink at the bar that an automatic 15% tip has already been calculated into your total so you do not have to leave additional if you don't want to.

Does anyone know where I can see a picture of the refillable beer mug. Is it plastic or glass. We are thinking of getting one for a suvinor for Scott's boss. But I want to know more about it first.

You're wise to wait a bit to tell him. I devised the paper chain countdown to avoid the anticipation meltdowns. That said, I have been blessed with a couple of patient kids. I've heard of my friends kids driving them nuts with constant pestering over an upcoming vacation. Mine have never done that.

While we're on the subject, I just gave the kids their pre-cruise letters yesterday. "Mickey Mouse" wrote to my son and "Cinderella" wrote to my Daughter. Both welcoming them to the cruise and informing them a bit about what to expect in the way of activities. The Mickey letter was done in Walt Disney Font and the Cinderella was done in a Cinderella font that I found on the internet. They were thrilled. I, however, had a difficult time reading the letters to the kids with a lump in my throat. My son got right to business writing Mickey a return letter.

We had Mickey send Mackenzie a post card. She did the same thing. As soon as she read it she was off writing a letter back to him.

A pre-cruise letter...what a great idea! That's cool.

Thomas is not terribly patient, so I may still wait a while. I think the beginning of October might be around the right time to start telling him what we're going to do. This will also be the first airplane trip for him(that he will remember anyway - we flew when he was 7 months old).

If passporter's is correct. We will be having a formal night on our 3rd night. Pirate night on the 5 night, and Semi Formal on night 6
