I'm super bummed about no Oogie Boogie, we were planning on a party this weekend since we probably won't be able to make another trip.

I feel like rD on the west coast has enough on its hands just trying to get back to even. I don't see them adding any "extras" for a while yet. And they are going to cater to local runners, like the parks cater to local visitors, so they sadly see no reason to shift the schedule for OBB. It is really too bad they don't at least try.

Yeah even if you don't have a special party for us, just have your normal Thursday and Sunday ones.

Someone on Reddit was speculating that the races already stretch staffing pretty thin, and trying to staff the races and the parties would be too much. Similar to what The Expert was referring to.

The turnaround between the Thursday night party and the Friday morning 5K in the parks would be really hard on the staff.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I am kind of relieved there isn't an OBB party while race weekend is happening. I think it just would have made the parks even more unbearably crowded, so maybe this means the parks will be more manageable. I'm also a little biased because these add-on parties have never really appealed to me much.

I'm throwing out a prediction that we will get a medal reveal next Monday, the 13th. It seems to fit the timeline of the last Disneyland race weekend and would be in line with the range that medal reveals have been in this past year or so. I'm so excited it's killing me.

I'm really curious what the hold up is. I tracked the medal releases for the last several race weekends and two days ago would have been the latest date based on those timelines. I am really wanting to see the medals too!

I sort of always assumed they'd be posted about three months prior to race weekend, any time prior to that feels like a pleasant surprise. My latest three weekends:

- 2022 MW: three months (post date 9/5)
- 2023 Springtime: four months (12/11)
- 2024 DL: a little less than three months (9/18)

I sort of always assumed they'd be posted about three months prior to race weekend, any time prior to that feels like a pleasant surprise. My latest three weekends:

- 2022 MW: three months (post date 9/5)
- 2023 Springtime: four months (12/11)
- 2024 DL: a little less than three months (9/18)

By my math, MW 2022 and DL 2024 had a medal release almost four months out (September to January is 4 months). That's what I was basing my predictions from. Oh well, it will happen eventually.

Next Monday is Memorial Day so I'm doubtful. That's why this past Monday seemed to make the most sense. Maybe next Tuesday?
